8" screen is nice, but I used my money to install a Pro-Tech Performance chip, 85mm throttle body, Cold Air system and a Cat-Back dual exhaust. On my 5.0l 2014 F150. I still have to use my Android phone for navigation, but now with 425hp I get there much faster.
while not helpful to the thread, I found this post to be hilarious.
I believe all NAV APIM part numbers end with a C. Also I'd just sell your screen and get a recessed screen. It bolts right in with no fuss.
So no nav on my APIM. The screen and nav came from the junkyard for $380. I didn't realize there was a recessed screen option. What vehicles/year models come with the recessed screen? Just for future reference because I plan on getting a new screen/APIM with Nav from the junkyard around Houston. Then I'll sell whatthe non Nav unit I'm using now.

All of these models but make sure it's a sync 3 screen (no large molex in the center for APIM connection). For instance all 11+ explorers use a recessed screen, but only 17+ (i think) had sync 3
Edge (15+)
Explorer (11+)
F-250/350 (14+)
Flex (13+)
Taurus (13+)
Edge was one of the first models to get sync 3 and they seem to be the most plentiful, but these all work with your brackets.
Does anyone know if the screen's are the same and only the APIM's vary between the Sync 2 and Sync 3?
Not sure if there is a difference in connections (would guess there is), but the screens are for sure different/not interchangeable between APIM's due to the fact that SYNC 2 uses a resistive touch screen and SYNC 3 uses a capacitive touch screen.
.... Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I had spent more and got the navigation version, but this will work well once I get CarPlay going.
When I upgraded to SYNC 3 I went with the nav APIM and could easily do without, as I never use it. I still like my 5" Garmin with lifetime updates better, but now that Waze is operational with SYNC 3 that is the best thing going for car manufactured infotainment systems. Of course you have to turn CarPlay off to use Waze so some people don't like that. I'm still in "testing it out" mode so can't fully endorse the entire system yet. Time will tell.
So far I’ve been underwhelmed with the CarPlay apps. Apple Mapps sucks for navigation and I’ve never gotten Waze to work. The best part so far has been the better control of pandora and the Apple Music app.
