You're just lucky. I've owned 7 different cars/trucks in the past 10 years and they all had MPG computer. My 03 corvette averaged 0.3mpg high. My 07 Mustang averaged 1.1mpg high. My 11 F150 averaged 0.8mpg high. My 13 Mustang averages 0.8mpg low. My wife's 14 Escape averages about 0.7 high. Her 09 Escape was about 0.8 high. And my new Ram 1500 was 1.8mpg high in the first run of 595 miles. I prefer the 13 Mustang telling me I'm getting 28mpg and it makes me happy when I find out I got 28.8 mpg.

I am consistently getting 18.6 to tank full, and my computer says 18.8.

If it was that close I would not care.

Just finished reading through this entire thread. I just picked up a 2014 F150 screw 6.5 bed 4x4 eco with the Fx4 package. This truck also has the max tow package so I have the 3.73 gears. I haven't really had mine down the interstate yet except for 100 miles out of the total 700 miles on my truck. According to my auto care ap my truck is averaging 15.69 mpg. I am hoping when I get out on the interstate I will be able to stay around 16-17. So far I love the truck! I haven't been in a gas motor in over 10 years and I am impressed with it to say the least.

You cannot measure fuel economy in the first 1000 miles. In fact, I'm told it keeps getting better till after the first oil change.

Actually, you can measure fuel economy in the first 1000 miles. All you have to know is miles driven vs gallons used... lol jk I understand what you are saying. I'm just happy that I am able to get 15mpg in town with the 3.73 rear end. In my old dodge I was lucky to get 13 in town and maybe 15 on the hwy.

Haha lol, yea, it keeps getting better and better. I have 2000 miles on the truck and I am averaging 17.5 with 34 inch tires and 70% city driving.

I didn't see much…or maybe any...change between the first few hundred miles and now over 20K miles in mine so this idea of "better mileage after it's broken in" isn't always true
