@snowfan Good mileage!!! You did better than I. Here are the numbers for my latest run. It started just before the Covid 19 where I didn't venture more than a 40 mile radius from home. Then some runs for steel, a run to Michigan, to central Ohio, back Michigan and home. The second image is the truck since new. Only had 12.5 miles on the odometer when I took delivery. Miles / hours = about 40.3 MPH.
Originally posted that I was only getting 12mpg out of my 2015 3.5 EB after having put 285/60/20’s on my truck. I was pleasantly surprised by the 3-4 mpg Increase that I gained after having replaced the paper air filter with the k&N air filter that I saved from my previous F150 3.5 EB. I bought this latest truck which came with a new paper filter, so I wasn’t in a hurry to switch it out since it looked clean. Im now getting 15-16 mpg with mixed city/freeway driving after having replaced it. Not great, but much better and consistent with that mileage that I got out of my previous two F-150’s, and I have larger tires this time around. You might want to get rid of this air filter if you have one like it.
That looks like a Fram. Good ol OEM Motorcraft filter in mine, 20-22 MPG with my 3.5 EB. Motorcraft are the only filters I use in all my Fords, never had one fail me.
I have had my 18 F150 2.7 for a little over a month. Using my Fuelly app, not the dash numbers I have been getting 18.3 mpg mostly 60/40 city/hwy. I have been using ECO mode and trying not to mash the pedal every chance i get. I also have been using the auto engine off to see if I like it or not. This week I was more 40city/60 hwy percent and I got 20.1 mpg. I have the 3.55 electronic dif and stock 20" with Michelin LTX MS2 tires. I feel like my milage should be better. I am 58 yrs old and pre-covid was driving a 1000 miles a week for work in my 19 Ridgeline got 20.1 mpg average over 66k miles. I have a friend who also has a 18 F150 2.7EB 3.55 electronic diff. mine is a screw & his is a scab. He has 18" rims with street tires on it. Both are 2wd. He is averaging 23mpg.
@Toolferone How many miles on the 18? I agree you should get better mileage even in city driving. I would start with new Motorcraft Air filter, tire pressure check, (I run 38psi) On both of my 2.7L I always got better than 20 mpg in town (small town < 20000 folks). I only use ECO during highway driving situations as the throttle response seems to me as "retarded too much" for in town driving. Do you drive in "rush hour" traffic mostly? I am puzzled by your comment " trying not to mash the pedal every chance i get." hence the question regarding Rush Hour driving.
I miss my 2.7 liter trucks (especially the which was totaled) but I enjoy the 3.5 SCREW I drive now. Keep us posted on what you find.

22k on my 18. I run 38psi also. Pre-Covid I was a highway king at 1000 miles a week. Now it’s just a mix of Sitti and Highway not usually during rush hour. The air filter looks brand new. As far as mashing the pedal I mean just get a kick out of flooring it which is still fun even at 58 years of age as I am getting used to the new truck. I was going to run this tank in normal mode and see if it made any difference. I’m not driving like the little old lady going to church on Sunday but I’m not driving like Mario Andretti either. I have a 36 gallon tanks that will be a bit before I fill up again I’ll let you all know what I see.
Finally had the opportunity to take my truck on a longer trip last week, and came away very impressed with the fuel economy . It's a 2wd Supercab XL with the 3.3. The trip was roughly 325 miles one way, and 90% of the trip was on the freeway, with a mix of 70-75 mph driving. The remaining 10% was on a back highway at 60 mph. It got 23 mpg going, and 23.4 on the return trip. Even if theres a 2 mpg error, 21 and 21.4 is still remarkable to me at those speeds.
