I get about 23-25 mpg highway on mine and 18-20 mpg city with my truck but i got a few mods and run Royal Purple HPS since i broke the motor in, and RP in my whole drivetrain. Prior to my mods i was getting 18-20 mpg highway and 13-15 mpg city... But i drive about 100-115 kph (62-72mph) depending on weather and if im pulling or have it loaded...

2006 f150 2wd 4.2v6 5 speed 3.31 gears. Bought the truck stock and was gettin 17-19 depending on my driving techniques. Put a cai and magnaflow catback and mpg went up to 20-23. But I throw er in neutral and coast to stop signs and lights. Also change gears at 2000 rpm. And instead of driving 50km/h through town in 3rd gear I drive about 60km/h in fourth gear. Gets way better gas milage that way, 3rd gear would cruise at 1800 rpm and 4th gear at 60 I cruise at 1300rpm

I have a 93 F150 XLT with the E4OD automatic transmission and the 3.08 non-posi trac axle. I get about 12 MPG in the city and about 15-16 on the highway, driving like a grandpa. Just bought the truck about 2 weeks ago, and haven't driven it much, but there's been a LOT of idling, which can reduce mileage by a lot. I am pretty pleased that the old Windsor can get that kind of mileage, despite its age. (Chalk it up to the rear end).

Oh, I have the original window sticker for my truck, and the thing rates my truck, with the 5.8L, for 12city/16highway, with the automatic tranny. What is a 5.0L rated at?

If new tires saved you 20% on gas your old tires had to be severely under inflated or super heavy load rated tires. Or maybe aggressive mud tires.

In 2wd like mine, it is rated at 15/21 - which is why I am struggling with only getting about 11ish/18

Default Trying to find out if dealer is telling the truth

I have a 2013 F150 4x4 XLT with 5.0L v8. Took a trip to Oklahoma recently with new truck. Started trip with under 1,000 miles on it. MPG was sad. Took it to the dealer and service said that it reads so low because it take between 8K - 10K miles for the thing to setup and calibrate. Sounds like a snowjob but I figured I would ask you all if you have heard anything like this before.

Mine got good MPG from the start. Some folks have said theirs got a bit better as the miles increases but I've never heard of it needing to go 8k miles to calibrate. I just dropped my trailer of and reset my trip. Went to work, then home, then went into town to get my daughter from school then back home. Mostly 55/60 mph with several roundabouts and 1 stop light on each leg of the trip. 20.3 average. I can live with that.
