But if somebody needs a HDPP truck, your 2.7 STX isn't doing them any good. Finding a new one on a lot can be even harder than finding a used one and the new order ones (2019s) can't be had with the same options as before. But I suspect it probably isn't a HDPP truck anyway.

Take most of what a VIN decoder says with a grain of salt. There's nothing in the VIN of a 2015+ to indicate HDPP. Like I said earlier, look at the GVWR and that will tell you HDPP or not. GVWR is on the white VIN sticker inside the driver door jamb.

Here is 2014 HDPP for sale at Lillision Ford in Vineland NJ. In the past few months I have seen a few 2013 and 2014 HDPP on used lots. I highly recommend Lillision Ford, they always treated me fairly and right. Yes, I did by my HDDP off their lot.

See quote. FYI, The 2014 and older were different.

edit: a quite search shows 7850#

Yellow sticker with payload is in the driver door frame and will be about 2250 payload if a HDPP.

If this truck is not a hdpp, I think I will forgo the hdpp and just find a fx4 supercrew with max tow, 6.5 bed, and 3.5 EcoBoost. That will be hard enough. Dealer near me has a 18 5.0 with 6.5 bed and trailer tow package. Doesnt have the trailer brake tho. Says he'll make me a screaming deal tho it's really too new for me price wise and no EcoBoost. So damn hard to search. Any tips? Also what is this package? (GVWR: 7,000 lbs Payload)

I went back and looked at it again now that I knew what to look for. Gvwr #7050, payload #1760. I'm disappointed but it is what it is.

Gotta realize that the further you go up the "luxury ladder" and stack on the options--especially heavy ones like moonroof--the lower your payload will be. I've got an '18 XL SCab 4x4 with the 3.5 EB, 101A pkg plus Max Tow pkg and the payload is just under 2000#.

You can get a truck to tow or you can have your luxury grocery getter, but you'll have to step up to the SD to tow heavy.

This truck is an xlt with no sunroof. Not looking for more then that. I was informed this truck had the hdpp but the gvwr stickers on the door do not indicate that.

I saw a lot of incorrect HDPP ads back when I was shopping. Dealers even sometimes call the 2.7 payload package a HDPP. Your best option is to always have a salesperson text you a pic of the payload sticker...saves you a lot of time. If new enough that you can get an image of the window sticker, it will tell you as well. I wonder how many owners incorrectly assume that they have bought a HDPP truck from dishonest dealers.
