You can get a truck to tow or you can have your luxury grocery getter, but you'll have to step up to the SD to tow heavy.
My 2017 XL STX Crew Cab 4x4 with the Max Tow Package is 1,860 lbs.!!

When most equipment is figured in on this truck with the mileage the dealer gave the previous owner a trade value of $15k - $17.5K. There is definitely room for negotiation. I would not offer them anymore than $19K with limited service records and the videos below.

Please see the following video on the 2011 - 2015 F150 EcoBoost. Check out YouTube Channel FordTechMakuloco who is a Ford Certified Mechanic. His knowledge / repair videos are excellent.

If new enough that you can get an image of the window sticker, it will tell you as well. I wonder how many owners incorrectly assume that they have bought a HDPP truck from dishonest dealers.
I have a hard time deciding if dealers/salesman are dishonest or clueless (or maybe a bit of both). A buddy of mine was looking at trading his Tacoma in on an F150, mainly for the extra room and to tow his Jeep. He was looking at the 2.7EB and I suggested he get one with the payload package, or at minimum the trailer tow package and not just the hitch. He sent me a pic of the truck and said the salesman told him it had the tow package and would easily tow his Jeep. I found the truck online at the dealer site, looked at the window sticker and guess what..no tow package, on the trailer hitch. I texted him back to tell him and he had already bought it. Sad part is this was a brand new truck with the window sticker taped to the window.

Well, I bought it for 22,8 out the door. They wouldn't go any lower. It's in such perfect shape tho I'm happy. A little peeved it doesnt have the hdpp but I'll live lol. Excited to join your ranks. The truck I've been driving is a 03 6.0 with 465k on it so quite an upgrade. Are there any stickies I should read? Like the weephole in the intercooler, for example. They put a new intercooler in it and replaced the spark plugs again and that fixed it perfectly for now. The gaps were off by a couple thousandths on a couple. Edit. Truck prices are high still in tx cause of Harvey
