Push button start
"Which trim level of F150 is that? I don't recall seeing any F150s on any of the sales lots without a receiver" Just because you don't recall doesn't mean they weren't there. They are. You ask me for proof, but for you " I don't recall is sufficient"? I will admit that most dealers always order a hitch. A hitch is one of the actual options on a F-150.
So, are there any F150's for sale that don't have a hitch? What trim level would that be? Any links?
"Which part of that unlocks the doors while the key is in your pocket as you stand next to the truck? Which parts in the truck search for and recognize the key that is in your pocket so it knows to unlock for you but not when the key isn't next to the truck?" I don't understand what you are asking for. The computer? Which part of what? Are asking about a modern truck or sarcastically talking about the older trucks?
If and when you learn what the push button start system in an F150 does, you will understand. Or if and when you read through this thread for any purpose other than responding in an argumentative manner, you will understand.
"Is it the definition of insanity to re-request that you provide some sort of evidence support this claim?" There are all sorts of key fobs on ebay that lock and unlock doors that sell for less than $10.00. There are also other key fobs on ebay that work as remote start and in your pocket push button start for about $15.00. Remember I said rebuild for less than $5.00. If it can be sold for $15.00 it can be made for $5.00. And no I'm not going to include a link. There are many of them. If you want just search for key fob.
Any links to proximity entry, two way communication, remote start FOBs on ebay for $15 you can provide?
I base this on the fact that key fobs for push button start F150's feature two way communication and functional proximity sensing, while non push button start do not have these features. That's a difference.
Or at least pretend not to
I guess that's that, then.
For those folks who don't really have any answers for questions but always want proof. You don't have any proof I'm wrong. To generate proof I would have to have access to Fords inside engineering. But I'm logical, I think, and I know some about how systems are built. No paper on the wall.
So, logically, you threw out some dollar amounts in post #1 that you have admitted to pulling out of your ..., didn't you?
Forgive me for requesting proof when I see ridiculous assumptions.
Point against the cost argument:
I'm in Germany renting a Ford Galaxy (as near as i can tell base level) and it not only has keyless entry and push button start, but it has lane assist, tells me the current speed limit and passing regulations, folds the mirrors on lock, but ALSO has 2nd row tray tables...
Ford can step it up in the USA

And that would have also had push button start and real keyless. My wife's commuter is a '17 Golf. Full keyless, BLISS, push button start, etc. Oh, and it's not slow and was cheap.
