Pistol mount
I have my license for rifles and shotguns, I didn't go for the restricted portion here in Canada because in order to even transport a handgun you have to have it locked up and you need to call in and tell them where you're going and all that crap. Big pain in the ***. I can carry around my shotgun or a rifle all I want in my vehicle as long as it is locked and unloaded.

Nobody is allowed to carry firearms in public like you guys in the states. Unless you're some sort of law enforcement or security driver for Brinks or something. The only time we can openly carry our firearms is if we are out in the bush. Handguns and restricted rifles can be purchased if you do the restricted firearm training, but they are absolutely useless to own unless you are a member of a gun club/range. It is 100% illegal to discharge a handgun or restricted rifle (ar-15) outdoors, anywhere. Except for a gun range. And you need to phone into the rcmp and tell them what firearm you are transporting, when you're leaving, where you're going, when you're coming back, bla bla bla. Personally, I think it is retarded. If I am out in the bush with an ar-15 or handgun it is no different than me going out there with my 12 gauge, or an SKS, or any other firearm. The rules in Canada are retarded. But as for carrying a handgun in public, I don't feel it is ever necessary, so I don't really care about that. Although it would be cool.
I don't know you're process of acquiring firearms in the states. But here it takes months just to get your license to purchase a firearm. That is if your security checks pass through the RCMP.

pick it out, pay for it, fill out 5-10 pages of signatures, wait 15 minutes, walk out of the store with it.

I don't know about the new trucks but I'm going to attach a blackhawk serpa holster to the inside of my 04 center console that will mount pretty nice for storage for my glock. And for practical use I'm going to mount some of those magnets down on the center console near my gas pedal leg. Because my seat belt gets in the way of my IWB when I'm carrying in public.

Our state constitution is very gun friendly and states: " Right to keep and bear arms.
A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and state, and for lawful hunting and recreational use."

Here in Louisiana we voters decided to remove the part of this states 2nd amendment where it stated "except where concealed carry laws are required" to "the right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental right and any restriction of that right requires the highest standard of review by a court"
We have always been an open carry state on your person in plain view, now law abiding citizens even the playing field with criminals that carry concealed because they are, .. well criminals and laws mean jack **** to them, they are less likely to try something when they don't know if their target has a gun to defend with.
No concealed carry permit required in other words.

My S&W .40 lays in the tray of my console, under the lid. Full clip with hollow points, and one in the chamber. Getting a 9mm for the wife's SHO this month because she won't let me put her tauras out of her nightstand drawer in it. Lol. Women.......
