No voltage on the pin for running lights on the truck. Called the dealer and they sent another tech out the following day. Tech was unable to fix the problem. I have an appointment to take my truck into the dealership tomorrow.

Anyone else having this problem?
I had the OTA update done about a month ago. I just went to check my ring camera footage from Saturday to check the Airstreams running lights, and they’re on, no issues.

I can’t say for sure that the update is the cause of the problem. I guess I will find out after the dealer has a look at it. Thanks for your response.

I had my recall done a week or two back by the mobile tech. Doesn't show yet on my Ford app or my truck screen. About a week back I called the dealer to ask if it really happened. They called back to say they could see it was done and it takes awhile to update. Anyway, I decided to hook up to my trailer to see if the lights work.
It's really simple now as there is a feature in the app that runs a check by cycling through all your light functions. You just hit check the lights buttonand it starts running through all the functions while you stand in the back to watch. It's so simple now as you don't need 2 people to check your lights.

The light test works well - just doesn't let you know if the surge brakes are operational

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you don’t need to worry about the brake part of the recall if you have surge brakes.

Ya the surge brake function has nothing to do with the recall, that would be your trailer issue if they don't work. Your trailer plug outlet on your truck has nothing to do with your surge brakes, they are strictly mechanical.

I misspoke I meant electric operated brakes not hydraulic surge brakes

Last week (4-22-2026) a dealership in the Boston area told me Ford had instructed them to no longer perform the software update as "it was not properly resolving the issue". I was told to expect more information from Ford at a later date. YMMV
