Removed Features?!
Hey everyone. I ordered a '22 Lariat in the middle of February. Last week I FINALLY got my VIN number in the email that my pickup is scheduled to be built the week of 6-20. Then Saturday, the salesman I went through emailed me with a very generic message saying "because the auto industry is dealing with supply chain issues, Ford is going to remove connected navigation and Sirius XM satellite radio from your order. I understand these can be important to you. If this isn't acceptable to you let me know and we can refund your deposit and cancel your order".
I definitely don't want to cancel, and I know I'm not the only person this is happening to... But what would you do? There's no talk of discounts off my order. I understand Chevy has been removing non-essential parts with the caveat to add them later as parts become available, which there was no mention of. I'd even be happy to push my order later.
I know these are very non-essential features, but I'm someone that will use Sirius every day and definitely want to have nav without relying on my phone. I also don't like the idea of spending over $50k for something with 'missing parts'.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the vibe this salesman just wants me to back out so they can get my truck in and turn it for more than what we agreed on.
Is every F-150 from here on out just not going to have Sirius or navigation? I'd imagine when the '23 books open, they'll just cost more for less... I'm kind of confused on what the right move is here.

I have a '22 on order, but over the weekend decided that I am going to wait until '24 or so when they get all the features back. Sure I will pay more, but at least I will have everything I want. I am not cancelling my order since I didnt have to put down a deposit, but when it comes in I plan to just let the dealer put it on the lot and sell it for more than I was going to pay.
You are between a rock and a hard place.
First of all, get it out of your head that the salesman is trying to screw you over. Salesman is upfront with you about the missing features. In no way is he hiding it from your or treating you unfairly -nothing about how you wrote the messages indicates he is twisting words to make you cancel the sale.
You already mentioned you know it's happening to others.
Read the threads, we have about 6 of them with "missing options/features".
I enjoy Nav and Sirius. These threads have opened my eyes, as I'm still planning to trade the truck for a more suitable to me vehicle -I figure I'll have to go without. I wouldn't trade my truck now on purpose for a vehicle that should have Sirius and NAV but has it omitted due to build issues. I mean I really want out of the truck, but I don't want to lose a few of the features I really enjoy for the next several years.
IF I had been waiting on an order to arrive though, I can't say how I'd feel about it. Not being in the position is difficult. If you plan to travel frequently over the next several years, and you don't need the truck, maybe passing on it is the best way to go. Just keep the understanding that you aren't alone and you'll have a hard time getting those features in the immediate future anyway.
Discounts on XM and navigation are minimal. If you decide to not buy because they won't offer a discount, that is just you standing on principal. Simply approach it with "How much credit is returned due to the omitted XM and Nav". He may say a number or he may not. If he says non, make an offer of $500 off. Start somewhere.

I doubt it will be on the 23s.Then Ford would have dropped it for only 4 months until October when the first 23s are built. I think you'd then have people dropping their unbuilt 22s for 23s. They have done stranger things, though.
CarPlay trumps both of these... I have nav and Sirius on my truck, but can't use them due to overseas. Sirius is like 32kbs-128kbs usually, even then the quality is bad. Navigation is fine, until you realize it cannot compete with Apple Maps / Google maps. I wouldn't cancel order based on that alone.
