Default Help please

Not trying to start a brand war so hopefully I’ll get some serious replies. I am deciding between a 4wd hybrid tundra limited/platinum and an f150. Honestly prefer the looks of the tundras but really like most of what Ford offers elsewhere

Had hoped to get a lariat but I am wondering if my budget will go far enough. Really like to keep it below 70. So my question for you experts is the difference between an XLT and a lariat. I have gone through the build process but there are so many options and I have not had a Ford in years. Seems an xlt high package gets you MOST of what you get in a lariat? What am I missing?

There’s a lab xlt here locally with upgraded audio, xlt high, 360 camera, most of what I want.

At first the trim snob in me said “if I get an f150 it would have to be at least a lariat” but trucks aren’t getting any cheaper

What do you guys think?

I was in the same dilema. I went with the Powerboost because of the on board generator and higher towing capacity. Otherwise I would have bought the Tundra.

Lariat has Leather seating and the full digital dash. I think there are a few options you only get on the lariat as well, but those 2 are for sure. In my opinion the toyota is still 5 years behind on tech and features. Everyone I know who owns one, likes the reliability but is wowed by just how much nicer the ford is.

Get that XLT, then either prior to delivery or after get Katzskin leather seat covers that replace the cloth. $2k tops even at the greediest dealer.

A year ago I got a fully loaded xlt, with plans to do exactly that.,but those fabric seats are warm the moment you sit on them in winter. Leather on cold days is like sitting on a frozen steak.

first non Honda or Toyota since 1987…. And it’s been great.

I think a big thing that the Lariat has is 4A, and if it's a 502, the better led lights, some things can be optioned up close to what a Lariat has, but those can't. Being in Canada though I don't think I would want to spend a lot on a truck and miss out on not having a heated steering wheel.

I think one other option that people miss from xlt to lariat is the led bed lighting.
Its a option that I got on my 21 xlt and I use it a lot.

I was in the same boat, decided to spring for the Lariat since I keep my trucks longer than the average buyer, and I spend a lot of time inside it; the additional amenities make it worth it in my opinion. I’m a fan of leather, and even on single digit days, I don’t notice them being cold when I get in. The heated steering wheel is very nice this time of year, and the 4A is amazing. This is my first truck with that option, and I won’t be without it from here on out.

The option I had to have was the two-tone sport interior in the Lariat. I know some hate it, but that was the one option I wouldn’t sacrifice. I’ve gotten several compliments on it from co-workers and family when they ride in the truck. All in all, very happy with my purchase; this is the best truck by a long shot I’ve owned thus far.

Agreed, if you live in an area that gets snow somewhat frequently in the winter it’s great to have 4A. The ventilated leather and fully digital instrument cluster are nice as well.

That's easy..... Buy the Ford. I don't allow Asian vehicles in my driveway. They must be parked on the street.
