But where do the dollars (profits) go? Where are the corporate offices?
The ONLY reason they assemble them in the USA is for tax breaks.

Memory seats as well, I am only 5’9 but the wife is 5’1 and it’s a pain to readjust seat/mirrors. I know it’s a first world problem!

I think you should be careful with that definition because that would render lots of American companies UNAmerican. Bottom line is there are quite a few Japanese branded vehicles that are built in the south. Their infrastructure is here, they employ Americans, they pay American taxes, they invest in America. That's quite the departure from a complete car that was shipped here in a big boat That makes them American built in my eyes...

Out of topic though...😛🙌🙏

Have had a 16 501a Lariat, 18 502a Lariat max tow, 19 701a Platinum max tow and now drive a 22 XLT 302a 2.7 payload package S Crew.

Here is the most missed item when going Lariat over XLT. A Lariat cannot be ordered with the 2.7 payload package which increases the GVWR from 6600 to 6900#'s.

With the 3.5 EB an 5.0 the XLT and Lariat both have a 7050# GVWR.

If going with a equal engine size of the Toyota, F150 3.5 or 5.0 start at a mid Lariat and compared it to a highly optioned XLT. Go to the ford site and build them both to see your difference in cost. See Below

3rd Build is the XLT 302a 2.7 Payload Package. If one doesn't need leather, and 4A along with cooled seats and auto fold mirrors.

Good luck

Just a clarification to avoid confusion from other readers.

The bold should be GVWR not payload. Two totally different things.

To the OP....

Have you driven a Tundra yet? I did, before I bought my 2022 F150. IMHO the Tundra was a real dog on the road, compared to my old (2015) F150. Then I started hearing about Tundra turbocharger issues. I don't know if the Tundra turbo issues have been solved for the 2023 model year? Proceed carefully.

I had the same choice as you a few months ago, ended up buying the F150, and boy what a mistake.

The drive train is clunky, the 4x4 system works poorly, the wheel well liners are made of paper, there was rust all over the thing, and there are mountains of quality control issues.

After 6 warranty claims in 2 months and more on the way I sold the stupid piece of junk and went back to my 08 Tundra (which I didn't have a chance to sell before the Ford was in the shop for the first time).

If you're used to Toyota reliability the Ford will leave you speechless. Sucks the Toyota is the worse truck from a features standpoint, but at least I trust the dang thing when I turn it off somewhere without cell service.

Sounds like a rather horrible experience, but I’d wager this is more the exception and not the rule. I’ve got 160K miles between the three F150’s I’ve owned/own and have yet to step foot in a dealership with the exception of one recall visit; it’s why I keep coming back to them.

Try the new Tundra and report back on the comparison. I enjoy seeing how all the competition stacks up for better or worse.
