I'd have to disagree. Sure, Alan helped pull them out of tough times but look at the models Ford has recently launched or that's in the pipeline vs back then. Night and Day difference. Once the chip crisis is behind us and their parts suppliers are back on track from the setbacks of covid Ford's going to be on a tear.

If you're not interested in the Lightning why are you in the Lightning thread?! Serious question. Obviously it's not going to work for everyone's lifestyle in the first generation but I myself like the idea of the performance and charging in my own garage 99.9% of the time with limited maintenance required.

That pretty much translates to open season on bitching.

It's not just this thread it's any Lightning thread really. I think it's quite hilarious. If I have no interest in something I surely don't bother to waste my time arguing with others that do have interest. I'd be researching and following things that interest me. Makes sense

You do realize that vehicle launches begin years before, right? Chris Farley's cousin wasn't CEO when all of these current models that you are so enamored of were conceived.

But Jim Farley is no where near the CEO that Mulally was. And doubling down on your original pronouncement is destroying your credibility.

Lol. This is a bad argument by someone that has had their butt handed to then.

Truth hurts hey man. Funny how you're the actual whiner in the EV thread. Find a new hobby dude ;-0

Funny part is it's not a matter of if but when you buy and EV, lol. Clearly you haven't driven a Tesla or Audi EV because you sound clueless.....they perform better than their ICE counterparts have the record for Pikes Peak last time I checked and just broke the 1/4 mile speed record for any production car on the planet. I'd say that's pretty interesting and exciting, lol. I'll be driving my Powerboost F150 with 430hp and 570 ft/lb of torque for the next couple years until my Lightning comes in that's faster than a Raptor and with a built in generator for camping and backup house power. I'd say that's pretty damn interesting, useful and innovative. Not to mention the extra cargo space in the frunk. Now the only hard part is waiting!

You are correct. In 10 years, everyone will be driving EVs.

But the time to go EV for hauling/towing is not this year or next. They need to make quicker charging LiPos and Bob's gas needs to get expensive chargers.

Right now the Lightning is good for city guys or daily driving or anything less than 100 miles away.

Yeah, it works for my needs and I'll be charging in my garage 99.9% of the time probably every 7-10 days depending on my schedule. With the amount of players and billions of dollars now in R & D things are going to ramp up quite quickly on the EV technology front including battery density (solid state is right around the corner), charging speed (Lightning can charge 15-80% in 40 mins) and motor tech (Tesla's new Model S Plaid motors RPM now is over 20,000 with a crazy flat HP curve all the way to 200 MPH which is nuts). With the amount of interest in trucks like the Lightning, Rivian, Tesla and Hummer I'd say there is a huge demand willing to make the plunge. Technology is going to improve drastically in 3-5 years never mind by 2030 when Lincoln says all of their vehicles will be EV.
