F150 Lightning
@SPOAT
I see you as an active user in this thread.
Would it be possible to get a Lightning specific forum on the board like the Raptor? I'd like to talk about the truck itself instead and not all the off-topic stuff.
Thank you.

In another thread I spoke out against splitting the forum up into addition subforums due to lack of traffic, but the fully electric Lightning deserves its own area.
Yeah, it was why I stopped coming to this thread for a couple months. Almost mad at myself for revisiting. It’s frustrating seeing so much of this stuff, and a lot of it is repeat. I see new people pop in making the same refuted arguments from the first few pages of this thread. It’s just of the rails.
Sorry, but you are twisting the facts to a fit the narrative.
You are correct, the start of the gasoline price rise occurred in November, 2020. What happened in that month? The elections and change in policy. Most visible were killing keystone and ban on drilling on various public lands. The reaction is well documented. Investment in petroleum diminished reducing production and price increased. That is my point.
Further your graph points out that gasoline prices bottomed early in 2020 before the pandemic, and rose sharply after the election in the face of the peak of covid infection in this country. Covid didn’t decrease gasoline prices as your graph demonstrates. Covid didn’t increase gasoline prices. A change in policy is directly the cause.
The narratives by EV advocates are false, starting with environmental benefits as my earlier comments on this thread describe in detail. FYI, I favor displacement of fossil fuels by alternative sources for environmental benefits but the present energy policies and EV advocacy are counterproductive to that objective.

You must not be from the US. There were no changes in policy in November of 2020. In the US, we had an election in November, but the newly elected president doesn’t take on the role until January. So your logic is, again, flawed.
You also mention Keystone, a pipeline that was not active and has been stalled for years, so how it was positively impacting prices, or negatively at its cancelation (which occurred months later), is I am sure an interesting cause/effect in your world. Not only that, but even if the XL was complete, it was already established that most of the produced oil would be exported, not used in the US.
Not even getting into the environmental impact tar sand oil has over standard crude. In other tar sand pipelines, their rate of leakage is three times that standard crude, and this one was supposed to stretch from top to bottom. So no, nothing lost there, and definitely not an indicator for US gas prices.
I am not twisting anything to fit a narrative, that is what you are doing. You are throwing out unrelated and unfounded, and timeline irrelevant things because of the narrative you have been fed, not me. I am taking the data as it is, not how I want it to be.
On that same chart I posted, there was a steady rise of gas prices from 2016-2019, where the same “policy” makers were in place that were there from the end of 2019 into 2020 when the pandemic took hold and prices tanked.
So explain to me, exactly, why it is from 2016-2019 prices were inching upwards, they tanked during the timeline of the pandemic, and started rising as the pandemic was in a downturn and vaccines took effect and people started traveling, but that it makes more sense that it was due to the election? How does the 2020 election explain 2016-2019?
Sheesh. The quickest death of this country will be from people that just parrot their favorite 24 hour news channel than take a step back and look at the larger world.

It is being looked into right now. I think they are waiting on a fixed release date (the decision is above my pay-grade).
IMHO it will have to have a separate sub-forum.

I sort of look at a thread as is it saying something intelligent to me. If I am learning I get it. Most likely the Lightning and its Brother the Hybrid will have many hundreds of threads as these weeks pass.
As a side note every Wind Turbine Farm built powers approximately 40 rural City / towns !
Is easy to figure out how many Wind Turbine farm and Solar you state needs. Whew IMHO !
