Well I was one of the many that got duped into buying a 70k truck that I built 3/1/22 with the highest lariat package u can get but I didn’t know about the hidden cargo lights option on the build. I think this is total bs being u can get an xlt on the lot with in it. So after going 10 rounds with dealer and ford I lost and finally figured out what to order from this furom and now I need to install. Only problem I have is how to program truck to turn on the option. Is this something I can bring to dealer to program or they won’t do it I am guessing being they told me I can’t get the lights after it’s built being they would need to rewire entire truck. We shall see. I am super scared of this forscan being I am far from computer savvy.

Are you saying you wanted "LED Box Lighting" and did not get it?
No programing. If you have all the parts on order and the wiring is preinstalled then it is just plug it in and hit the on/off switch in the bed or use the new switch on dash.
I am saying on the web site it said bed lighting was a standard when I ordered so I figured it was standard. Did t know I needed to add a 1000$ option to get them and salesman never said nothing. I even handed him me window sticker of my 18 truck and said I want everything the same. Cost me 10 k more for this truck and no lights wtf. I did order parts from a fellow member on here’s advice and part numbers hoping it works. Just not sure of how I have to reprogram
This is what I found on here looking for help on programming as this member said needs to be enabled.

The wiring is at the rear lower bed corners to install. You'll need two extension harnesses, the switch, and the lights. Then you'll need to enable it in FORscan.

FORscan changes
Just did it this weekend, and the hardest part was laying on my back to plug in the connections after feeding them down the openings. Nothing to it.
My xlt has the lights, but I so rarely use them that if I had to order a truck wouldn’t bother with the BUP option. FWIW dealer failed to tell you so you could add the feature.

What year is your truck? In 2021, the XLT 302A High included bed lights. Before the MY22 was introduced, Ford stripped out the bed lights in the 302A High. Beginning with MY22, to get bed lights, one had to get a bundled separate option.

Forscan is different from what you think of when you hear “programming is required”. You’re not hacking a computer or writing complex lines of code. All you’re doing is telling the truck a factory feature has been installed.
Think of it as flipping a breaker switch in a panel already built at the factory. The circuits are already there. You’re just telling the truck to turn them on. No pocket protectors or PhD in computer science required.
