I prefer to protect my investment, but

maybe you’re all right and I’m worried without reason.
Since you painted the rear axle housing, maybe mask off the fender and use some spray undercoating on that fender edge you are concerned about. Then when someone offers some nice low profile flares that work with mud flaps, you can add them.

yeah, I need to get over that tone. Just trying to figure out why it needs to let me know I started it. And opened the door. And let me know the motor is running. And hooked up a trailer and….. it seems a little much.
They have to have all of those chimes and warning messages for the same reason they have to put warning messages on things like Tide Pods and batteries telling people not to ingest them, yet people still do... They are aimed at the "lowest common denominator" in society so Ford can limit their liability I guess. But like others have said, this is not a condition limited to Ford by ANY means... Just be happy that there is ForSCAN so you can disable many of those things annoying you.

Did the wheel openings change after '21? Can you not purchase the previous OEM flares and install them? I haven't kept up with all the various little changes because I am not in the market for a new truck.

Or how about having PPF installed?
You have the flares I like. yes everything has changed. According to the video I watched from town and country Ford the 21 F150 has 93% new parts compared to the previous generation.
I stopped at the body shop today to drop off the Air Design flares and get advice. I decided to put some PPF under the flares to protect the contact area between the flare and the fender and go with the OE Bushwacker flares.

😂😂 I know it! I think that’s what subconsciously pisses me off. I think I feel like my Ford is telling me I’m an idiot every time it tells me things like “vehicle running”. I’m always like no **** my vehicles running. Or my door is open. I’m like yes I just open my door. I’m very well aware that it’s open. 😂😂
Or “trailer connected”. I’m like no ****. I’m the one who hooked it up. Somebody certainly do not sneak up behind me and hook a trailer to my truck. 😂 on a serious note though I do like that one since it checks the lights and will let
me know if it disconnects.

Funny thing is...these are Ford oem parts.
(so why aren't they on the trucks?)

All the warnings are a US thing. In other countries there aren’t signs to wash your hands or don’t eat a silicate packet or tide pods. Other countries don’t allow frivolous law suits like the good ole USA. Or people here are just that dumb.

yeah, they are the Lund/Bushwacker (same company now) flares you can buy from Ford. They are what I have finally decided to go with. Unfortunately there are no splash guards available to go with them yet, leaving my doors still susceptible to rock damage from my wider tires. Hopefully they’ll offer some
soon. I tried the ones from my 22 F250 and the fit is good but the screw pattern is different. I may just modify a set of those to fit

Why tf are some plastic pieces like $400? I looked at those and some other options and they're ridiculous
