I installed mine about a year ago, but can't active it with the FDRS. Do by any chance know where the setting is? Like in BCM settings? Thanks for the help.

It is very easy to activate in Forscan. Do you have the latest version?

After install it takes 2 minutes. In the BCM you select "keypad" and then edit. Change from "disable" to "hardware input". After that hit ok, then write.

I have an IDS and FDRS. Just can't find the function to change it from disabled.

I can't advise you on that.

Since Forscan is free(for two months) and an adaptor is $20, if you cant figure it out I recommend just using Forscan.

I found one of my techs has Forscan that is definitely the way to go. Quick and easy to activate. I was messing with the factory scanner and that didn't go so well.

Got mine done today along with changing to the gloss black trim which fit perfect.

i must of ordered the wrong year for the other pieces as they do not fit.

But can confirm getting the wire plug ran the right way in the door is the hardest part and the Forscan part is super easy. Thanks for the help everyone. I love having this option on my truck.

I think I'm going to go with the wireless one. I figure if I change the batteries twice a year, it should be just as dependable as the ones that are wired.

I highly recommend against the wireless one.

Because theyre not reliable, or easier to hack? Or both?

I've never had any issues with a keyfob before, and I have one that is still working on a 2004 Ram. I suppose this may be comparing apples to oranges though.

I would have the ability to open the doors with my phone in the event it fails.
