$60 bucks and 2 hours of your time for the wired one is better looking in my opinion but to each his own.

Point taken. I didn't read through this entire thread and wasn't aware the wired ones were only $60.

I was reading about the "Keyless Entry Keypad (If Equipped)" in the manual and there is mention of "Master Access Code".

So after installing the FL3Z14A626AF keypad on a 21-22 XL F150, then activating the key pad in Forscan. What do you use for the Master Access Code or where do you get it so you can operate and reprogram the keypad? The XLT trim and above are supplied with the keypad Master Access Code when the keypad is factory installed.

I was wondering if the Master Access Code (per owners manual) was the same as the key code in the glove box supplied with a new vehicle.

Yep it was for mine. That key code in the glove box is what made me look into adding the keypad. With the help from the folks on this forum I did it pretty easily. Installing the keypad is the hard part (pretty easy) the Forescan is the easy part.

I am sure the 2018-2020 one would work. But you can go on https://parts.lakelandford.com/ and order the one for your truck. I did it, works great.
Forscan is the software used to activate it. Plugging it in is the first part. Then you have to "tell the truck" its there. Some reading up on Forscan, along with youtube videos will explain it. In short, its extremely easy to do it now. You do not have to figure out any of the coding anymore.

The code should be in your glove box, as it was in mine. If not there are ways to figure it out. You cannot change the key pad code, only add other code #'s to it.

I've never had any issues with a keyfob before, and I have one that is still working on a 2004 Ram. I suppose this may be comparing apples to oranges though.

I would have the ability to open the doors with my phone in the event it fails.
Because the wired one is so easy to do. The wireless one is a glorified fob.

I like to do this on my 2022 stx f150. I ordered part FL3Z14A626AF keypad. I hope this is the correct part can anyone confirm ? when i used my Vin it said it would not fit.I assume because it did not come with one. I used a VIN off a 2022 xlt to get part. Has any one done this on the newer generation 2021-2022? Like to get some info on door panel removal and wire routing. I plan to cut my plastic trim rather than buy a replacement. I holding off ordering the adapter for forscan until I can confirm my wiring plug is in the door. truck came with a security code in glove box. I hope this means the wiring is there . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
