Well if they are going to build more hybrids like the powerboost Ford can keep them!!
Huge disappointment IMO
I get just as good mileage with my 5.0, at a cheaper price, less weight and less things to go wrong.

Those V8's are complicated *** engines with more moving parts to go wrong than a 3.5, as of yet pretty untested newfangled cylinder deactivation, and substantially less low/mid range torque. No generator either, of course. And substantially lower MPG in city stop and go driving.

Everything is a compromise. Pick the ones you want to make.

The only one that I think wouldn't have a compromise would be the 2.7...if they built the 2.7 SCREWs with a 7k lbs GVWR like they do the others.

Such a simple ask...just build the 2.7 with the full GVWR under it and offer it on all of the trim levels.

I don't consider being able to air condition or heat your home a disappointment. With the way we have been losing power lately, it's a huge bonus in my opinion. Not to mention things like camping and tailgating.

True but it's verydifficult to heat or air condition your home with a powerboost. Air especially. It can't even come close to powering central air and few have found an electrician that can hook the powerboost up to their house directly via transfer switch that works.

I can run the heat in 3500 square feet of my house with a 2k watt suitcase inverter generator and the transfer switch (just a couple furnace blowers, the gas pretty much never goes out)

Camping and tailgating, yes. Though the payload restrictions make it not the best half ton to tow a travel trailer with

Why not 2.3? Imo it’s more realistic than 5.0

Why would you hybrid the more economic engines in the range?
From what it seems, they've developed a 'plugin' hybrid system. Overall, Ford want their CAFE numbers.

Because better mileage and more torque is better mileage and more torque

And because generators are cool

Often the order guide will come out in September and new model year will actually start to be out there in December-ish...but it varies and depends.
