I put billet goodies in mine before I even put a tune on it. Avoidable, but he drove the **** out of it for a good while.

Smart man...Any guy that fabricated his own F150 twin turbo setup has my respect a lot more then bolting on a Whipple like I did.

I was all about SCT until now. I kept waiting on them to get their ***** together on the 2018's. I finally got tired of waiting and glad I did. The HP Tuners setup for tuning and logging is a bit different (mainly the tuning) but once you do it a time or two it is no problem.

You need a laptop to use it but I was already using a laptop to datalog with SCT. The main difference is you need a laptop and internet connection to load the tune. If I am away from my home Wi-Fi then I use my cell phone as a hotspot.

With HP Tuners you start with the Whipple tune and it is modified which simplifies the tuning process. It only took 4 versions to test it for safety (Air/Fuel, Spark Knock and Shift Points) and get it like I wanted it (Shift Firmness in Sport Mode). Ken has it so close in the beginning that only tweaks have to be made. Not much has been changed in the Normal drive mode. Just skip shift removed, shift points raised to 6600 rpm and a transmission tweak or two. It really drives great in Normal mode. Better than the stock Whipple tune. It is basically like you don't have to reinvent the wheel. In Sport mode there is no comparison. It is a beast chirping the tires in 4wd.

I'm not making that much power, but I installed an ATI superdamper to help combat the harmonics issue that takes down the OPG's.

It was a major fail. The ATI superdamper caused the blower to start eating belts. they would only last a couple thousand miles and then the would disintegrate. I went back to the stock damper and no more belt problems.

was it belt alignment related or from the texture of the ribs on the damper?

we ran it on the dyno and watched it and all the pulleys appear to be in absolutely perfect alignment.

i'm not sure about the second part of the question. the grooves looked identical to the stock damper. the only difference I could see is the stock damper has a beveled edge on each side of the grooves where the belt rides and the ATI damper had a squared off shoulder with a more or less sharp edge. I'm guessing the square edge had something to do with it but I don't really know. honestly other than the square edge there was no detectable difference between the two.

someone else is using it on a n/a set up and I haven't heard anything negative about it

Balancer makes the problems worse.

just replace the gears and crank sprocket

For those that just replace the gears and sprocket, in extreme failures the front crank/rod bearings are going too, so the harmonics issue is still worth combating. I wonder if the upgraded damper off the 2018 GT Mustang would be a worthwhile choice.

I was about to say. If a balancer makes it worse, why did ford put an oem one on the 18 gt...
