Default Window Tint

What are you guys liking for window tint? Now that I own mine, I'd like to get this done. I previously used LineX for the bed with great results and service. I know they offer window tint as well, but I had always heard great things about the 3M crystalline. My truck sits outside permanently so I'd like to protect the interior as well as reduce the heat from the sun. I'm in my truck far more during the summer at race tracks where I keep the windows closed, so heat is a big deal.

Thanks.

My truck sits outside all the time as well. I have Autobahn Ceramic I3 on all windows. 20% over the factory privacy in the back, 5% on front sides, and 30% stretched across the shield (doctor's prescription). Have had since 2015 and still looks like the day it was tinted.

Ceramic tint is the key. It is the best at keeping the heat and glare at bay.

I'm getting Llumar ceramic tint today actually. All the ceramic tint manufacturers seem to be comparable on the specs so for me it was about finding the right installer. I didn't want to do it myself in case I screwed it all up.

I'll be keeping it Ohio legal which means only 50% on the front side windows but we can go as dark as we want on the back.

i put 3m crystalline on but you’ll have a hard
time finding shops to do that with cheaper (but good) ceramics becoming more prevalent

I live in FL I’ve previously used Llumar always did the mid tier I think it’s called CTX but not 100% “Heat rejection” is alright. Most shops have 3 LLummar choices.
However with My current truck, I was in a rush and the place I went that could do it right away used Global, Did global Ceramic on front windows and 50-60% on windshield and I was not impressed by the “Heat rejection”
6 months later had my truck detailed and they also did tinting so I had them do 5% on top of the factory tinted rear windows. They said they used llumar. Overall it was dark but “Heat rejection” sucked.

3 days ago 3/26 I wanted to get my front windows (at 20%) to match the back (at 5%) after a few shops I found one that had amazing customer service but offered “AutoBahn” I never heard of it so my initial thought was it’s probably a cheap brand that he’s pushing. Long story short went to another shop that was not a good experience, then went back to the shop that offered autobahn. I ended up having everything removed and redone with Autobahn Ceramic i3
35% windshield with 5% strip
5% Front windows
15% Rear windows (I have factory tint on the back)

overall I’m extremely happy & impressed with Autobahn i3 the heat rejection is night and day difference than what I’ve used in the past.
Moving forward I don’t see using anything else besides them unless there’s a long term durability issue but it’s only been 3 days so time will tell.

Ok thanks for the information.

im in Ohio so I’ll have to check the tint regs, as I don’t remember them off hand. There was a thread a long time ago where some pics were posted showing the % number of what was used. I’ll have to try and find that for an idea of what I want.

I am also in Ohio and have factory match fronts and 50% on the whole windshield using non-ceramic tint. I have never had any issues with the windshield. Factory match is pretty dark but can still see easily. 50% on windshield blocks a lot of light and looks good but I can still see at night with halogen lights.
