Window Tint
Ok thanks for the information.
im in Ohio so I’ll have to check the tint regs, as I don’t remember them off hand. There was a thread a long time ago where some pics were posted showing the % number of what was used. I’ll have to try and find that for an idea of what I want.

1. Nothing on windshield except a strip at the top.
2. Front side windows not more than 50%
3. Rear window and back side windows any tint is legal.
I put 50% on the front sides and 15% on the back sides and rear window. So I kept it legal for Ohio but Michigan could still have something to say about it. Michigan has maybe the worst tint laws of anyone.
I find in the no-front-tint states... as long as you keep the front/windshield windows considerably less tinted than the rears you won't get hassled. You can go with 80-90% tints that offer heat and UV rejection properties above what factory glass has. It barely changes the tint level, but makes it much more comfortable in the vehicle. Its healthier too as you will have less UV exposure. I'll tint all windows on every vehicle I own for now until forever for this reason. Just keep it looking legal, and if you do get pulled over, drop all the windows so its not a safety issue for the police. They can still ticket you for it, but its just a fine. I mean I see people driving around me all the time with blacked out tint on all windows and here I am worrying about some 80% on my fronts.

As long as your tinting meets the requirements of the state in which your truck is registered, other states have nothing to say about it. Make sure you carry documentation that the tint meets your state requirements... in Texas, tinters put a small sticker on the lower driver window certifying the tint meets the state requirement. In other places there might be a statement on the invoice to that effect. Ask the shop if you're concerned about it.

I forget.....is the higher the number the darker the tint, or is it reversed? Not that I do a ton of night driving....but I'd rather not tint it so much that vision suffers a bit if possible.
Tint is rated by the amount of light it lets pass, so a lower number is darker.
