Well, that's the thing - I'm looking for a truck to buy and I really want Sync 3 (for Apple carplay) but I don't think I'm going to be able to afford one of the newer ones with it already built-in. I was going you ask you what models I should look to buy for the smoothest and easiest upgrade.

 

For instance, could this one be upgraded to Sync 3? I believe it has Sync 1 right now.

Hi TexasFording, I have a 2016 F150 XL with a 4" screen and phone and backup camera. I am running Sync version 5.11. Would like to upgrade to 8" Sync 3 and keep my functions adding dual usb, car play and possibly NAV. Can you please send me the parts or a Kit price to do this?

Any 2016 will have sync 3. Some older model 2016s need to upgrade the usb hub to run AA/CP. Nav is standard on all 502As and above, though some 302As will have it optioned.
