Default Transflush

Did I see correctly that there is no topside fill up port for transmission fluid?

I can see draining the fluid via the trans cooler by the radiator. Can you also fill it up using a pump in on that same line?

Too bad we can't do a trans flush at the US Department of Health and Human Services.

There is a small dipstick mounted on the top side of the transmission. The cooler lines are restricted by a thermostat valve that opens at operating temperature.

I would be inclined to go old school and drop the pan or extract fluid out the dipstick hole and pump it back in there.

I'm a fan of old school dropping the pan just to be sure there are no "shavings in the pan"

If you don’t want to drop the pan, let the tranny pump do the work. Drop drain in an empty 5 gallon pail. Put the fill line in a pail with clean fluid in it. Put the full pail higher up so gravity helps.

The issue I see with using an external pump is over pressure the pump, knocking crap loose in the lines or off the filter.

I am bringing mine to the dealer to do it.

Meh, I'd be afraid the Dealer would let the tire boy do it. I'd check with a transmission shop, I don't think they hire many non-certified techs given the nature of their business. I'd also bet the transmission shop is cheaper.

I know the Techs at my dealer and they know me. I trust them to do it correctly, we live in a one Ford dealer town.
