Default Text messaging

Sorry if this is repetitive. I have searched and read many posts but nothing seems to be working. I have an iPhone 5s. I have paired it and unpaired it 20x. Everything works except text messages. It always says inbox is empty and I get no notifications. I am the type of person who hates when something that is supposed to work doesn't.

Thanks. Again sorry for repetitive post.

I don't think iphone supports texts with MFT. Mine doesn't.

Did you enable notifications under the sync tab?

Have you updated sync? I thought I read something a while ago about an update that was iPhone friendly? ?

you can receive texts without issue with an iPhone with the older version and newer version of Sync (2015). You can only send texts with the new version of Sync but you have to use SIRI eyes free to send them.

As much as I like SIRI eyes free i feel I sometimes have to yell for it to work...

Before the new update for the sync with my iPhone 5s I would get a text notification on my MFT screen. I could then touch the MFT screen and it would read me the text. I could not respond to it without using my phone.
Now with the new update for the sync I can do the same as above but I can now hold down the voice button on the steering wheel for three seconds. You then hear the sound of siri coming on and then I just ask the nice lady to send a text to whom I want and she does it. Such a nice lady. I have the 6s now but it also worked the same with the 5s. My big thing to make it all work was the new download for the truck and then setting up the phone. After the download I paired my phone to the truck and made sure the notification was turned on. It all worked after doing this.

That is why I am frustrated. I have updated, turned on notifications and nothing. No alert or anything. I can use Siri eyes free to send but it would be nice to get the notifications.

that is odd, maybe delete the pairing and re pair the phone, once connected go to your bluetooth settings on your iPhone and turn back on Notifications.

Simple fix and it's not on your truck, rather in your iPhone Bluetooth settings.

After it's paired to your Bluetooth, on your iPhone, go to Settings, Bluetooth. When you see your "Sync" device listed, click on the little circle "i" icon on the right side of the Sync entry. Turn on "Show Notifications". That's it.
