DING DING DING - WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! I did not have show on the lock screen of my phone notifications on. Once I turned that on, it worked! Thank you so much. I appreciate the input from all of you.

Ok. So is "show on the lock screen of my phone" a setting on the iPhone or in MFT/Sync?

 

I phone. Under settings~notifications~messages

 

Nice! Got mine working too. I just have the iphone 5 and i thought messages did not work for me because when i hit "messages" on the sync screen it will pop a message saying "that my phone was not supported" or something like that... They work now i can listen to them instead of taking my eyes of the road to read...

I can't get mine to work with sync 3...iPhone 6. Any ideas? I tried changing the option to show notifications but it still says no available text messages.

 

This is how i got mine working for iphone 5:
Settings>bluetooth>syncinfo(blue round info logo to the right)>show notifications "ON"
... Next time i started the truck it worked. Hope this helps

Does this feature work with Android based phones? Talk to text while driving would be GREAT!!! TIA.

 

I was getting the message that the phone currently connected to SYNC wasn't able to do messaging. It's an iPhone 6 so I knew it does. Turned on notifications in the menu on the phone and to finally get it to work I had to reboot the phone.
