Sync 3 Technical Discussion
EDIT : I do now see there is another row and it is probably voice_nav.

It doesn't look like voice_nav ( JR3T-14G422-CE ) is installed or at least picture isn't showing it. In diagnostic screen on far right do you have option to scroll down to show more items installed? If voice_nav didn't install it could possibly be the problem.

Didn't read through all the posts so not sure if this has been discussed. Tried to do an update with the latest files with a USB drive. Didn't want to update. Did nothing. I had modified the region with Forscan so that I can do searches for POIs with Nv as well reading text messages while driving. Is that the reason it is not updating?
yes, the 422 file is there and shows a hash too. I had to edit the lst file and install that by itself to get the voice stuff working. Everything seems to function as it should but I keep getting the “installation in process” message so I’m thinking the map file didn’t completely download but I’m not sure.
I would try to run full update again if you haven't already tried that. My guess is you will probably get the mem_err03. If that is the case and you do continue to get the installation in progress pop up, you will probably need to run Acool's fix and reinstall update.

ACool: I guess it's my turn to for computer issues. I've tried several times to PM this message and it has failed. "Token ring" failure, whatever that means. Then USB stick issues, Microsoft deciding it's time to update right in the middle of this and for whatever reason, this site would not let me post. I'll keep trying.
Anyway, I apologize for being a pain. The problem turned out to be two bad USB sticks. I redid the process from the start, downloading the files and installing them on yet another stick and all went well. I even took the time to load some music files on those two sticks and neither of them could be read. I now know exactly what you mean advising to purchase sticks with lights on them. All is now fine. Your patch worked perfectly once it was done right. Problem solved.
Anyway, thanks again. It is very much appreciated.
