Bgmap_err01
Another poor soul that wasn't paying attention and pulled the USB key before a map update was complete and now have the BGMAP_ERR01. Found my way here and am new, so no DM capability. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this fix Acool has for it?

I have a MKx and like many others I pulled the USB key before the map update finished and have been in the black hole called Ford support trying to get rid of the BGMAP_ERR01.
Please provide the link to get pass the BGMAP_ERR01? Thank you

My 2018 has the current sync update. My issue is that I can’t answer a hands free incoming call while navigation is running.. same issue with either Waze or Google Maps.
Edit: Using a Google Pixel 3A cell phone
Update, iPhone 13 replaced the Pixel and all issues went away.

Hello on my 2016 F150 Lariat, I also stopped the maps update, before it was complete. I had purchased the Maps update UBS from Ford. After three weeks of e-mailing the Technical support Team at Ford. They had tried to send Patches, none worked. They sent another new USB Drive. Still no luck. Then I bite the bullet, and went to the Ford dealer. They had it two hours and only reloaded the SYNC update which already was done. Sent another e-mail to Technical support only to be told they closed the case. so after spending several hundred dollars, to have the issue only made worse. I am at a loss, what to do. I seen a post that noted a fix for this issue.

The "fix" works by overwriting the NAV files so you can replace them again with your install (it first breaks your navigation). Someone who shouldn't be using it (doesn't have a Nav install package in hand) might unknowingly install it. I get people PM'ing me with random unrelated errors wanting to install this fix thinking it will solve any problem. So it remains private.
