Sync 3 Technical Discussion
#781
Did you ever find a fix for this?
I have a truly bizarre Sync 3 issue.
The clock stops keeping time when the ignition is running. As soon as the vehicle returns to accessory power only the time corrects itself.
Battery disconnect & reset has no effect.
APIM reset has no effect.
Loading all stock as built data has no effect.
Sync 3 updates have no effect.
Checked all grounds and fuses.
Does anyone here know if there's a spot where I can short out points on the board to clear potential RTC faults? I'm hoping maybe there is a cap I can short out somewhere to resolve this issue.
* Update. This is apparently affecting others as well across all Ford vehicles. Primary those who've done a Sync 3 retrofit and updated to the latest Sync 3.0 version (build 19205).

I just want to send out a BIG thank you to Acool for another "Installation in Progress" fix.
It worked very well. This time around, expanding the ".gz" files and then renaming them back to ".gz" as Acool described earlier in the thread, decreased my reinstall time of the map update to about half of the first time.
If anyone has this problem in the future, Acool has the fix!

I got BGMAP_ERR01 when I was upgrading the map to 1 18 and now I am getting MEM_ERR03 when I try to reinstall the maps. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Is it possible to send me the link to your BGMAP_ERR01 fix? My NA119 map update got interrupted. All 3 files are located in the APIM and each have hashes but I keep getting an "Installation In Progress" message each time I start my vehicle. Thank you!!

Hey new poster here, but longtime lurker. I too keep getting the BGMAP_ERR01 error code due to me letting the truck turn off during installation. Do you have to have a certain number of post before you can PM someone like on other forums? I'd like Acool's fix, but cant find anywhere to PM him when signed in.
