single "clunk" when starting the engine
I have the same issue since day one. Whenever the truck is warmed up, upon shutting off and retart the engine the clunk sound will appear.
Certain gears are not smooth like 4th, 7th. Especially when u towing a load u can feel the vibration!

I was just loading the bed earlier today after parking for 20 or so minutes. Decided to remote start to get the A/C going while standing by the tailgate and got an amazingly loud "CLANG!". This is the first time I heard it close up from outside the truck, it's muffled a bit from inside the cab. No way someone standing there could say that it's "normal". Haven't gone to the dealer yet, but definitely need to make a note of it next time I'm there.

And are the Camaro and Corvette trucks? Are the 2019 Silverados on the lots yet? And did Ford build any of the transmissions in these GM vehicles? I know that Ford and GM worked together to design the 10spd transmissions, but I doubt they they are being produced and assembled in the same factory to be dispersed to Ford and Chevrolet.
Anyway let’s figure a way to resolve this for ourselves. And not create turbulence.

Two days ago I picked up my new 2018 XLT 4x4 (3.5 Ecoboost) Supercrew and in the first 200 miles it's done the 'clunk' twice at startup. Both were cold starts on a very slight incline with no parking brake engaged. I'm going to start tracking the conditions when it happens (assuming it's going to continue).
This thread jumped out at me because I was surprised to hear/feel the clunk both times that it happened. When I heard it the first time I remember thinking...wow, that was weird/odd? And my noise is EXACTLY what I'm seeing/hearing in the video others have posted in this thread. I may also crawl underneath and record video to see if the drive shaft moves at all as well.
Luckily, I know a lot of Ford Engineers and one of my best friends is an engineer on the 10R80 and 10R140 transmissions. I'm going to pass this along to him and see what he can find out on the inside. If I learn anything new, I'll gladly pass it along/post it here.
Thanks to the OP for sharing this.

just a quick update on arbitration process. Ford sent the Field Service Engineer (FSE) out to "inspect" my truck on Tuesday. I was told by the Ford customer service person that the FSE's really didnt engage with the customers, and sure enough, the FSE barely wanted to look at me and was very clear twice that he was just there to perform an inspection of my truck. The FSE and another person from the dealership took my truck on a drive and when they came back, this was the conversation:
Me: were you guys able to reproduce the clunk?
FSE: Umm yeah.
Me: the little one or the big one?
FSE: the same one as all the other trucks. but I mean, (making sort of a stopping gesture with is hand) we're just here to do the inspection, if you have any questions or concerns, you'll have to talk to Ford.
And that was it. Great customer service and made me feel welcome (dripping with sarcasm). I didnt get warm fuzzies from the Service Manager either, who is the person that knew the FSE was coming. He basically told me to have a seat in the waiting room and the rental car people would come pick me up.
Just a little background issue on why the FSE was inspecting the truck again, basically, when he looked at it the first time, the service advisor or his manager noted on the invoice that the FSE was unable to duplicate the issue, which was totally false, the FSE had my truck and another 2017 up on lifts and was able to replicate the issue on both trucks, and thats when the FSE said it was a "characteristic". In my case, the dealership's computers had gone down some time before I arrived, so when I asked the service advisor to change the invoice to be accurate, he said the systems were down (he showed me). Then eventually, the service advisor was fired by the service manager due to some words I had with the service manager concerning another part of the truck I had asked to be checked, and the service manager basically threw my service advisor under the bus. After I left, the service advisor had some words with the manager and was later fired (the service advisor didnt like being thrown under the bus, and I dont blame him).
