Nice clunk, on my 1 to 10 scale (compared to my truck's clunks), that one is a 3 or 4. The loud ones are the ones that just drive me nuts.

Mine went from happening maybe every 15 to 20 starts to now 1 in 3.

Taking it to the dealer in the morning for what I'm certain will be of no resolve.

The Ford rep called me yesterday. She said that the FSE said it was a "characteristic" of my truck. Then she asks if I'm ok with that and if all is good (meaning arbitration hearing isnt necessary), to which i respectfully reply that no, I'm not ok with the clunk the truck makes, and i also stated that the FSE had already said the clunk was a characteristic. So at this point I'm waiting for the BBB folks to schedule the arbitration hearing date. I'm also going to contact the law firm that is handing the Ford Focus powershift lawsuit to see if they have an opinion about the clunking issue we have.

I'm really hoping that 88redlx is making some progress with his Ford contacts.

My trucks clunks in every start. Think this could be the function of a torque converter not unlocking? What could cause the drivetrain to send power all the way through on start up?

if only Ford cared enough to tell us why it happens. I'm surprised that none of the trade rags have run into this issue. I contacted Motor Trend's truck editors, no one responded. I emailed Consumer Reports, they were VERY interested in the issue and are escalating to the folks that test the Ford F150.

Same sutuation here, 2018 SCREW 5.0 Sport XLT 4X4 10spd. Its loud outside the truck and sounds like the driveshaft slapping against something! What is this clunk? Annoying AF.

Default Starting in Neutral

Does anyones truck do this in Neutral? Mine still makes the noise in Neutral when starting. I'll go start mine later to see if the DS is moving on remote start.
