Default Short Rant...

OK, this is a truck forum where people tow things so this has to be the right place to post this...

For the love of GOD please people, remove your Receiver Hitch Ball Mounts when you are NOT TOWING something!!!

Why oh why do people drive around town with them installed, but they aren't towing anything? This is a major pet peeve of mine. When parking in a parkng lot, it makes navigating tight rows very difficult and have you ever hit one with your shin? It's super painful.

I liken driving around town with one installed to wearing a condom around town all of the time. Your ready for something that you aren't going to do. It just doesn't make any since.

End rant...

If your navigating a parking lot and can't get around my hitch, then you are too close to my truck. Never, ever had a problem with a tow hitch.

Yes, it hurts when you hit your shin on a hitch, but again why are you walking within 6 inches of my truck?

This sounds like an OCD problem, not a hitch problem. Take it from someone with a mild case of OCD.

Good luck

Kinda like dodge owners driving around with their tow mirrors flipped out without a trailer.

I recently learned in my province that if you have someone rear ended you with your hitch on you are half responsible, doesn't make sense to me.

I am guilty though of keeping my hitch on, keeps people from driving close to my truck.

Some guys claim they leave them on to protect their bumper.

Personally, I think the hitch itself protects the truck well enough, I think guys like to leave it on to prove that they've hauled something at least once in their life before.

It's kind of a cheaper version of the guys that have big lifts and mud tires to prove they can off-road, even if they've never even jumped a curb.

Well it is nice to have in case you get a light love tap from behind from someone. No small dents in the bumper and soft enough to not bend the hitch receiver/frame.

But then again I've never found a parking lot so small that a hitch on a truck made it hard to navigate. And I'm from Miami, FL.

Must be the OP was playing that pokeman thing and wasn't paying attention to where he was going.......

Obviously he doesn't tow anything, either. My hitch is too big to store inside the truck (Trimax Razor). I'm sure not going to leave it in the garage and not have it or forget the dumb thing when going to get my trailer out of storage that's 15 miles away. I can't think of a better place to store it..... Installed in the receiver.
