Thanks everyone for the nice words and support, I look at life a bit differently now as I appreciate how close I came to a major injury or possibly worse....On to the serious topic now, trying to pick a new truck. Drove a 2017 lariat EB3.5 with 10spd today, it is a really nice combo, could barely tell when it shifts, I looked down and I was in 8th gear and I was only doing 60km/h (37mph). The motor seems a bit more lively and when you step on the gas, the truck just takes off, very impressive. Put it in Sport mode and it was very noticeable, good shifts, felt great. I will likely go with a 2017.

Cool.

Perhaps another Ruby Red or have you decided on another color.

Glad to hear you are ok, and that insurance is doing the right thing...
That said, I sure would like the tailgate off your ruby red, if it has the tailgate step.

The colour is the hardest part for me, each colour gives the truck a different look and personality. I will be going with a Lariat and I am leaning towards black, but the work to keep it looking good has me concerned, as I like to keep my ride clean. I find the colour depends on what package you go with. Chrome pkg I like white and black maybe Blue Jeans, Sport pkg I like Ruby Red, Black and Silver and if I go back with the Special Appearance pkg I will go Ruby again. May have to flip a coin.....

Well, I turned the page and while I will miss Ruby, there should be a 2017 black Platinum SCrew 3.5 10spd in the driveway sometime next week. I am already counting the endless man hours of trying to keep a black truck clean, but it should be worth the time and effort.

Webby, glad you are okay...but a black truck in Toronto?

It's not just that you'll be cleaning it daily, it's the scratches from the snow removal that will make the truck look old fast. It's a lot of hard work (and knowhow) to properly polish a black vehicle to get rid of even minor scratches and swirl marks.

In any event I'm glad things have worked out for you and I envy your choice of a new '17!

Congrats on the new truck.

Can`t wait to see some pics.

Since you elected to go with the color black and the work to keep it clean and looking nice, might I suggest you look into getting the Opti Coat treatment.

Have a great day.

Here's hoping your replacement is better than the one I got to replace my wrecked 14. I went from a perfectly running sweet ride, to a more expensive Ruby Red load of crap. Between the vibrations and the radio not working every so often, I really am missing my Tuxedo Black Lariat. Looks like the new Shadow Black will be harder to keep clean than the TB was. That color could get really dirty yet still look good.
