PS - remote start is a 3-button sequence ( lock>Start>start )

I love my remote tailgate function that I added.

Maybe you guys just need to buy pants that aren't so tight. Or, go buy an edge/ fusion key that doesn't have the trunk button...

I feel for you.
I have set the alarm off when doing yard work and having the remote in my pocket.
I thought the wife may drop it because of the kitchen sink in her purse.
I got a silicone cover for my remotes hopefully that will help prevent this issue.

I actually do like and use the remote tailgate feature. I usually have a dog kennel in the back and when the tailgate opens the dogs make a run right to it! But I HATE the key fob buttons! Like others I have hit the panic button too many times to count and locked and unlocked by accident with just normal movement of keys in my pocket. This week I walked into the garage and found the tailgate open and about 1/3 down leaning against the garage door! Thankfully I was not going into the garage to leave, or I would have been in exactly the same boat as Wayne! I'm ordering the plastic cover today. Hope it helps! I think I have one of those nylon multi tool cases from BassPro. Hope I don't have to resort to that.

Hate the key fob!!!

I love the drop tailgate feature but I agree you should be able to turn it off! The remote portion should disable itself when a trailer is hooked up also. Shortly after I got my truck I had my enclosed trailer hooked up. I was unlocking the truck with the number pad and somehow hit the 5/6 and the tailgate started dropping. I heard the pop but wasn't quite sure what it was. I got back there and grabbed it when it was about an inch from slamming down on trailer Jack. I about crapped my pants!!

I bought this
key fob cover key fob cover
on Amazon. I find it really helps to prevent inadvertent button presses because the buttons are now recessed enough below the cover's surface. Available in a variety of colors too.

Default Key FOB

I think what Ford should have done was something like the Ford Escape/Edge/Explorer instead haven't it on the push button on the key fob what about waving your foot under the bumper to open the tailgate. most time your hands or full.
