Remote Tailgate Warning
I think what Ford should have done was something like the Ford Escape/Edge/Explorer instead haven't it on the push button on the key fob what about waving your foot under the bumper to open the tailgate. most time your hands or full.

I agree!
WARNING!!!! So this just happened and I haven't researched to see if anybody knows this but when unlocking your truck using the key code PAD after you've entered the code if you hit the number six it opens your tailgate if you have the tailgate release. I now know this because it opens into my garage door!

I guess that was a confusing answer, sorry! I installed that ARE cap on mine and it has a lip that covers the whole top of the tailgate. While making it very uncomfortable to open the hatch it does keep the tailgate from opening if using the remote or keypad unless the hatch is opened.
Actually making the remote about useless. I would find a low washer fluid sender more useful.

And I do use this if I need to get in back and don't have my keys with me. Which is very often at the house or cottage.
I bought this key fob cover on Amazon. I find it really helps to prevent inadvertent button presses because the buttons are now recessed enough below the cover's surface. Available in a variety of colors too.
