Ive gotten a 3rd spare key and neither of the instructions work. If i go the mustang route, after removing the 2nd programmed key, i get the factory code for the keypad displayed on the screen, but the 3rd key doesn't get programmed at all.... buttons up or buttons down. Is there a third option to this that someone knows of?

These instructions worked perfectly. My first attempt was with remote buttons up and that failed. Flipped it over to buttons down and it worked perfectly.

Not sure why ford would add this extra twist to the process--seems confusing, but hey. I got it to work.

Default 2016 Lariat attempt to mate 3rd Key!

Has anyone used this below for 2016 F150?
Ive had no joy with my attempts key Key fob up or down?
It was eBay genuine Ford seller factory sealed fob only thing is not certain if its ever been programmed perhaps to another vehicle?

The online instructions clearly are very different to the below, below makes much more sense but still no joy all round! I get no notifications. Im starting with ignition off initially.

I too have a 2015 Lariat. I purchased my "key" directly from the dealer (same fob. No different buttons). I had no success using the manuals instructions but was successful first time using the Mustang manual's instructions. (Thanks to advise on this forum). Maybe it's because your key was previously linked to another truck???

My 2015 is the 5 button one. Bought on EBay no metal key. Maybe the 2016's don't allow this?

I'm sure they do, but maybe a glitch with my remote it was correct order number just had a trunk "logo" instead of a tailgate. Its live if I press remote start it gives the red indicator in response. May have to bite the bullet and get a local Auto locksmith to take a shot at it.
I check the tray its functioning as it allows me to set a g=fob as a "my Key" incidentally it recognizes those keys any way up for that function.
Do you get any feedback from screen/dash as you go through the above sequence?
I assume you start ignition off position.
