Default Is It Possible to Upgrade SYNC

hello all,
i have a 2015 XLT with what i believe is the SYNC 1 with the small screen. bluetooth, backup camera etc.
i would love to put a factory navigation. is there a sync 2 or something? I know the lariat has the sync 3 which also controls all the led lights etc but i don't need that.
is it possible to get a factory navigation unit in my truck?
thanks

Your understanding is a bit incorrect. Your 2015 has Sync 2, Sync 3 is in the 2016s.

People have upgraded from MyFord Touch to Navigation. To upgrade from your version requires first figuring out how to get an 8" screen in your dash... Or you can use Googlemaps. You are looking at spending a lot of money and major work.

Why not just put in an aftermarket head unit?

Yea you can upgrade from the 4.2 to 8". There are some pins that need to be added and changed around.

I think the OP means he ordered the truck WITHOUT navigation and now wants navigation. There ARE kits you can buy that give you the navigation. You basically get a new radio unit with navigation/etc... and they program it to work with the truck... I forget where I found the info but if you use google you'll find some links to it.

No nav on the small screen that I know of. MyFord touch you can find the modules online and ask for the vin to see if they have the nav license on it. Then you can program it with forscan (see sticky). So you would need the sync module, screen and bezel. And then repin your wiring harness with the link I provided above.

I have the 8" Sync 2 in my 2015. My buddy told me Ford can upgrade to the Sync 3 for $100. Any truth to this?
