Is It Possible to Upgrade SYNC
Highly unlikely. But for the right amount of money anything is possible. I don't think 100$ will cut it tho. Def ask your buddy where he heard this and get back to us.

Did a Ford rep tell you that? Theoretically the new software should run, it might run a bit slower since the 2015 trucks have slower processors in our units, but it SHOULD run if you can get it installed (and if Ford can upgrade GREAT).
It's like when iPhone came out with a new OS. If you had a new phone it worked fine, but an older phone ran it slower... same concept.
As for getting NAV on. I don't know any dealers who will do it, as it goes against what they do. There are a few 3rd party companies who will sell you the actual nav/radio unit that you swap out that is programmed to work. It's expensive, about $1,000 or so if I recall maybe $1,500

This is the site I found btw, not sure how legit it is, etc...

No nav on the small screen that I know of. MyFord touch you can find the modules online and ask for the vin to see if they have the nav license on it. Then you can program it with forscan (see sticky). So you would need the sync module, screen and bezel. And then repin your wiring harness with the link I provided above.
