OpenPilot
Wow I checked on openpilot ages ago and was disappointed there was no support due to the steering lockout when I had my Mustang.
im happy you're putting your effort and working on it and cheer you on. Unfortunately I'm not one familiar with such opensource or any programming.

Big news here. My endeavor with Active Park commands has paid off. It is steering without a lockout, and it feels so nice. Right now, I have to work on driving up safety as it is intercepting the PSCM and spoofing the speed to allow me to send those commands. This does mess with the assist map when enabled, but outside being enabled, its normal assist.
I also need to implement strict angle limits, since it can turn the wheel full lock, but those are trivial.
Next step once I have this fully figured out is bringing the CAN lines for the CCM in the bumper up to the headliner so I can intercept them and get long control.
Stay Tuned. This is only going to get better.

Btw, heres a video of it in action. It needs to be fine tuned, but I'm very close.

Here's the latest (I can find) interview with the inventor

Right now, it's finish my tune, get safety code moved to panda, and port to 0.8. Once that's done, it should be pretty good to go.
This does require a pscm intercept harness which has to be ran through the firewall

Running a harness thru the firewall shouldn't be a problem. I can do mechanical and some electrical but electronics (for me) is lots better if plug-n-play... My Lariat is a 501A with "curve control" and "advancetrac with RSC", but no LKA or advanced cruise control stock. I do use FORScan, but pretty much a "script kiddie", following what others have done using Livnitup and Airborne Ace's guidelines. I would be up for adding either to my truck if required to make this work, if reasonably possible.

ACC is another thing. It isn't required but makes it better. I will be looking into op long controls, so stock acc might not be required when I do that.

It is. I have done testing and research.
