Default OpenPilot

Adding in a little disclaimer here since they sent me a lovely Cease and Desist for my code. This is not openpilot. This is phoenixpilot. This is not endorsed, associated or affiliated with comma or openpilot.

Code for this can be found here: https://github.com/roxasthenobody98/phoenixpilot

So, I got it installed and it's interfacing with the vehicle. I still have lots of work to make it actually self drive, but it's a start.

Interesting, was not aware of this. Didn't see the F150 on their supported vehicles list; looking forward to your reports on this.

No one's cracked Ford's ECM, and only the fully loaded tech package F150 will ever be compatible since only those equipped trucks have the necessary sensors and adaptive features for OpenPilot to take control of.

Right now, there's steering control for the Fusion that locks out after 10 seconds. I need to port it to the f150. 15-17 won't support ACC by OP since it can't intercept the CCM. 18+ will do both since the CADS goes to the IPMA.

I'm the only one porting it right now. It's all open source, so I just need to decode the current can bus signals, and find what I can send to the PSCM that won't lock out.

I took a drive where I toggled everything, and even did a perpendicular park, so I have some nice can data to run through.

My work is on https://github.com/roxasthenobody98/openpilot with branch being either ford-devel or release-ford

I'll take a clue for $400, Alex.

OpenPilot, once ported and sending the right commands will take over steering. It's like Tesla Autopilot but ported to other cars.

If you're lazily asking what this is, it's autopilot self-driving except not Tesla-exclusive and not $7000.

OpenPilot Website... https://comma.ai/

And a good read on it...

Looks to be an impressive system. I just hope it doesn't get out of hand with too many people without enough experience messing with it. Looks like regulators have him on their radar.

They already shut OpenPilot's original incarnation down. Originally the company behind it was wanting to sell fully loaded and programmed devices already ready to just plug in and go. Regulators said that's tantamount to selling a self-driving car and they needed licensing and approval from each state to do so. So instead they said forget it and transitioned from that plan to simply selling what amounts to blank hardware and making all the software free and open source. So, if you were to install that freely available software on their hardware, that's not their problem. Now regulators can't touch them and I'm sure it makes them butthurt.
