Default New navigation/interface?

Does anybody know when the new F150's are getting the new interface instead of sync? I have a 2013 with sync and am not a big fan. I don't want to pull the trigger on a new one until they change it, but am getting impatient as I see all these 2015's on the road.

there is slotted to be an update to the Sync system for the 2016 model. The OS will be qnix based (i believe) instead of the Windows OS currently, and will run software coming from Blackberry.

this should represent a noticeably faster and more user friendly experience.

again, this is not written in stone and there is no hard and fast date as of yet.

Bretcoe took the words right out of my mouth. That being said if you are really against the current MyFordTouch you better wait until SYNC3 is the option during your order. You cannot upgrade the MyFordTouch to the SYNC3 later.

Honestly I would rather see the switch to capacitive touch screens instead of resistive. I am more bothered by that than Sync.

As I understand it the Sync 3 system includes a capacitive touch screen.

Hey Everyone!

SYNC 3 is our next-generation connectivity system with an all-new hardware and software experience. This summer, SYNC 3 will first launch on the 2016 Escape and 2016 Fiesta. It'll migrate to all vehicle lines in North America by the end of 2016. Check it out here: https://social.ford.com/content/ford...d-escape-.html

I dont see to much of a problem. My 15 won't have it but my 16 could and if it don't my 17 probably will. Good or bad I only have to live with a vehicle for 12 months. Kind of nice getting a new truck every year. Between me and you I could care less if it is in there or not. There are a lot more things that make a nice truck besides the nav unit.

Honestly if I had to choose between Sync 3 and a capacitive screen...I would choose the capacitive screen. I can't fathom why Ford is using the old and extremely crappy resistive touch screens. IMO, these screens are a large part of what makes the system feel so slow because it is such a pain in the @** to get it to recognize your touches. If Sync 3 gets capacitive that is going to make me more jealous than anything. I wonder if it will be possible to switch out the whole unit and get Sync 3?

Shaay, my dealer mentioned that the upgrade is just a software upgrade and that it would be available for the 2015 F-150. Is this not true? Meaning, it also includes a hardware upgrade so there will be no option for the 2015 to have the SYNC3? Any details would be appreciated.

Thanks!
