Here's my list of cars and problems associated:

1999 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4- 110,000 miles. When I received it at 16 and literally ran the **** out of that thing, threw a rod through the block at about 145,000, had the engine replaced. I ran the crap out of it but did it have issues when it was bought new? Sure it did and back then a fully loaded suburban was "a lot" of money compared to today's standards but my family was always Chevy and Cadillac. So I was a GM guy. Traded at 160,000 miles.

New 2007 Chevy Silverado LT- Truck was considered a "silverado classic" as the new body style just came out. I was still young and ran the truck a little hard but always had its maintenance done before it was due. Before 60,000 miles GM had replaced the rear axel 2 times, the trans 2 times, one of heads due to a seized valve, and eventually the whole motor (all covered under warranty). It also had electrical problems. It was a lemon to say the least. Either way I bought a new vehicle and we turned this truck into the ranch truck. Traded at 60,000.

New 2011 Chevy Tahoe Z71 4x4 fully loaded- Fell in love the second I unwrapped the plastic from the steering wheel. Drove it ALL over the place. Drove to Colorado, Louisiana, Dallas, Houston, NM, etc. Threw BFG KO's, a custom tune and even put in a full stereo with a 3sixty.3. Took it out to the ranch and treated it like a gentleman but never a lady. Then drove it home from Lampasas at 130 and even after all that was able to cruise into Austin and it was perfectly fine. But, the Tahoe wasn't perfect. It did have it's fair share of small issues, wind noise, steering noise, steering clicking, but GM was good to me and when I traded it held its value very very well. I took 23,000 out in equity and used a portion of that to buy a house.

New 2015 4Runner Limited 4x4- Wanted to recoup my equity from the tahoe and not own anything. Never been a Toyota fan boy and will NEVER be one. Worst vehicle I've ever owned. Zero power, terrible gas mileage, low ground clearance, leather wears out extremely fast, limited technology, wind noise, diff noises (it was all wheel drive) rattles, jbl system rattles everything, no remote start, the list goes on and on. Sold at 10,240 miles.

New 2016 F150 Lariat FX4- dealership didn't have my truck so they let me test drive a truck from Thursday to Friday. Fell in love once again. Now I own the truck in my profile and while I've had some issues with it, my dealer is always willing to fix them. Is it the best truck I've owned? YES. Does it have a few issues? Kinda. Am I upset? No. After owning various vehicles, I know that sometimes, there are problems, but that doesn't mean you have a bad vehicle.

2 points of this entire rant are:

1. No matter what manufacturer you go with, you may have problems. BUT, there is always a dealer willing to work with you. I'm still a Chevy guy and will probably buy another GM in the future but I still wouldn't trade my Ford for anything. I love this truck. My point. Cavender Chevrolet always made it right for every single one of the Chevy's I've owned and LJ Ford has agreed make it right and has already promised a free rental car. In other words, FIND A DIFFERENT DEALER WHO WILL MAKE IT RIGHT!

2. If the dealer truly can't solve the problem then buy something else. You might take a hit from the equity side but hell, is it worth your turmoil or consistent negative reviews of a truck lots of people on this forum love? I don't think so. Buy something that you can proudly say "I love this truck".

End of rant.

Hot off the press...

GM halts sales of some SUVs for overstated fuel economy

The incident is the lastest in a multitude of issues in recent years involving the auto industry overstating vehicle fuel efficiency.
Some automakers have previously compensated vehicle owners for overblown fuel economy ratings. Asked if GM will follow suit, GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson said the automaker "will contact owners of the affected models to address this situation." Automotive News reported GM engineers discovered the error as they worked on the 2017 model label.

For every customer Ford loses for whatever reason they gain back three because of customers from other brands being chased away in similar fashion. Continual bashing might make you feel better but you're not touching their bottom line. IN fact, it makes me want to go out and buy another one.

There is a reason they're the #1 selling vehicle in the US.

I think the Sync in my 2016 F150 Platinum is far better than it was in my 2015 F250. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the voice recognition, especially when using navigation.

With that being said, I've never had any issues with my sync 2
In the late 80s, my neighbor's car was totaled by an idiot turning left in front of him when my neighbor had the right-of-way. He knew I was a car nut and kinda mean, so he asked me to go car shopping with him. We were at a Chrysler dealer (because Gary wanted to look at something there, it wasn't *MY* idea) and the salescritter was pushing a LeBaron convertible. I wasn't a fan of the K-car FWD powertrain unit and said so, and Leisuresuit Larry the salescritter said "Oh, the LeBaron is rear-wheel drive, it's not like the other cars in the line." Knowing what he was full of, I said "If you can crawl under there and show me a driveshaft running to a rear differential, we'll EACH buy one."

TL;DR: Everything salesmen tell you is suspect, at best.

- What are you driving and what is the Sync version you have?
70000. Incredible

I'll never understand why people think wealthy business owners are obligated to care what their customers (or "peasants") think or want. If customers want something better than or different from what the wealthy business owner is providing, those customers can go elsewhere - effectively forcing the wealthy business owner to make changes/improvements if they want to continue to be wealthy business owners. That's the beauty of capitalism!

Our society hates wealthy businesses and business owners because we have handed all of our purchasing power & control back to them by purchasing their products even when there are defects or shortcomings. Ford, GM, Apple, Microsoft, etc. will continue to make money off the uneducated (about the products they're purchasing), apathetic (about the products they're purchasing), and "fanboy" consumers in this county.

And I say this as a hardcore, educated, Ford & Apple "fanboy"!

^^ What this guy said ^^

Think of Mark Fields as a roll not a person. His roll is to make executive decisions to grow the profits of Ford. This year they are showing record sales and record profits. How are they doing that.. by getting us "peasants" aka buyers to buy their trucks, cars, etc. It is always a risk vs reward game. If enough risk comes to the surface they will make changes if not they will risk it further and aim for the bigger reward.

Back to the OP which I think I almost forgot what this thread was about. Changing the MFT/Sync3 or whatever to run better.. well until they need something better to hook more buyers it is what we have. Plus who knows what he drives for a car for personal use. Sure he gets a deal on a Ford/Lincoln but rumors were going around that the F150 marketing head didn't even own a F150 So would Fields actually know how crappy the system is?
