Bobby at Banner Ford activated mine today. Works like a champ !! I PM'd him my phone #, the SIM ID and the time I would be available. Took him less than 2 minutes to test all of the functions and give me the PIN. Great guy to work with and he sent the parts (to my house) for less than $300 total.

BTW - I have a Windows phone. They haven't written the app for Windows yet but accessing it through the web browser works just fine and gives me all the functionality of the app on Android or iPhone.

Yeah he's great. Bought my setup from him via ebay. He sent me the wrong model and after a call, he overnighted me the correct one. Called me late one evening and set it up in 5 mins.

I'm receiving conflicting information about whether or not I need to take my truck to the local dealer for activation after I install the kit. All of you have mentioned a simple phone call to activate the system, but whoever responds to questions on the eBay page for Keith White Ford-Lincoln is telling me that I'll have I'll need to take it to my local dealer for activation if I don't have factory remote start.

This is what they are selling. It looks like the same kit. $289 is the best price I've found.

I got mine, as well as others here from Beau at Keith White. He activated mine last night. After it is installed and working, I texted him my SIM number, cell number and carrier, and he activated it and sent my PIN via text. You can try texting him at 601-383-5580 and he may be able to help you. He likely won't answer if you call, but he will respond to text.

Did your vehicle already have factory remote start?

Spelled out a few times on different threads.

If your vehicle already has factory remote start, then you are all set once the cellular system is activated by the selling dealer ($49.99 per year).

If your vehicle does NOT have factory remote start, you have two options - 1) Use Forscan to activate it (spelled out in detail on the Forscan threads) or 2) Have a dealer activate it (some charge, some don't charge, some charge a lot).

If you do not have factory remote start, it will NOT work unless you do one of the 2 options above.

Is this something the dealer can enable before I install the kit, and then I can have it activated over the phone? If so, my truck is currently at the dealer for some warranty work, so maybe I could have them do whatever it is they need to do while it's there.

But when I called to order it, the parts guy insisted that I needed this kit. In fact he said he'd bet his house that I need it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/15-thru-17-F...5U-cZq&vxp=mtr

I have a 2016 Platinum with the factory remote start and security system. Somebody please confirm which one I need. TIA
I believe that you need the $299 kit with the jumper wires in the "Y" shape. Without this, you won't have any way to hook up the remote box to the OBDII interface.
