Whew! Read the whole thread at one sitting. Learned a few things also though some don't apply to my XLT. Valet key....I don't have one of those, is it hidden somewhere? Or not an XLT item. I received two full key fobs. Fuel cut is at what MPH? Anyone ever determine that? My wheels don't have rim balance weighs, stick on weights up in the center of the wheel....I like that. You guys have covered a lot. Am I correct in assuming the XLT 2.7 does not have a boost gauge hidden under the tranny temp setting? Great thread. M1911
Wow
You must have been reading this for awhile then!!
You are right though I also learned some good stuff here but my reviews were over several months.
I have seen a few people complaining about the air conditioning not cooling enough. For my XLT, i recently discover that you can make it cool better by turning the tempeture **** all the way to the left to the coolest position and then turn it again, doing so you turn on "max ac"... Play with it and you'll see what i'm talking about.
My old explorer had the 2 positions "ac on" and "max ac" and there was a noticeable difference between those 2, maybe this helps a little.
Is there any way to disable the tailgate lock? I don't like mine locking. Ever.
I don't think so.
Having it locked when the doors are locked prevents criminals from stealing the tailgate quite so quickly.
It unlocks along with the doors...
Depends on which wiring perhaps, but Lariat+ tailgates are electronic opening with a push button, not a mechanical latch.
Unhook the wrong wiring and you disable that push button, tho the button on your fob might still work...
