I have a 2018 xlt 2.7 tt, sport. I diabled the auto start stop feature and i have noticed my mpg has suffered greatly, i get 15 - 16mpg reading on dash even on eco mode. i diabled the button on the dash, diabled the notification in the gauge cluster, and diabled the system itself.
i researched ... forum reading ..... seams to me that the auto start stop system does alot. Monitors battery life and regulates alternator voltage to the vehicles demand. With the system diabled, the charging sytem is on all the time which reduces mpg's
my thinking is ... if i want better mpg's... i should enable the whole sytem again and get the eliminator that connects behind the switch under the top tray. Has anyone else noticed their mpg number go down aswell or is it just me 🤔

Well..........
I found it very annoying. I didnt expect disabling one specific thing would also disable another🤦♂️
And..... I didn't want to buy the auto start stop connector available on the web.
I could enable it all and use a paperclip 😋 for that one specific annoyance 😪

The Autostop Eliminator works well; you can get one that plugs into the OBDII port, even, so you don't need to take the dash switch out. I have not heard of any side effects of using the device; it disables the auto start/stop, nothing else. It was well worth $80 to me.

I used forscan to disable the switch itself, so it doesnt have the backlight.
then I also turned off the notification you get in the gauge cluster when you press it.
then the system itself.
I wasn't expecting my mpg's to suffer.
to a point ... I kinda do care about mpg's... but I didnt think shutting off one thing that is annoying would disable the battery monitor sys..... why cant I have 1 off and the other on... 😭😭😭😭🤦♂️😂🤣

This thread is straying into a start/stop conversation and deviating too far from a hints and tricks sections.
A tip/trick isn't really "Keep auto start/stop enabled to gain MPG".
There are a number of threads on start/stop. I encourage you to follow up in those threads for your question/concerns regarding BMS, Auto Start/Stop, MPG.
