My 2018 lariat 502 actually had wire hooked up from ford. Opened tail gate and it also had factory switch in latch but it was unplugged. Plugged it in and enabled in forscan and works perfect.

When in drive you cannot simply push the lever into neutral any longer. You have to press the button. Nothing major and it doesn't change much. Just discovered this yesterday while stuck in traffic and playing around.

Are you talking about the wire by the left rear wheel well? So basically you only had to plug a wire inside the tailgate, and activate the tailgate ajar feature in FORScan? If yes, could you please provide the FORScan change needed, and tell us the build date of your 2018 Lariat? My Platinum (basically the same thing) is Jun 04, with VIN xxx28024. If it might have it, I might consider removing the BedRug from my tailgate, and removing the cover, and looking for it. Thx.

You are correct. Everything was connected except the switch on left tailgate latch which was present. Pulled cover off tailgate and plugged factory wire into switch. Activated one line in forscan that had to do with door ajar settings. Will look back at my changes and find right one to change later this morning. My lariat was built on February 28th 2018 in Dearborn.
look at tailgate ajar thread for all answers

Does the rear driver side seat in my 16 scab fold down or just the passenger side?
Seems like it would have to to anchor a kiddie seat, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out.

It does for screw and scab. this has been covered a lot. for the information go to builtrightind.com.... this is the item you want. they have videos/installation instructions. the kiddie anchors are at the top right behind the rear seats. your owner's manual has mucho instructions in the first section of it re: kiddie seats. the scab is easy to do (seat release) when you see the video you will see why. I used a 14mm box wrench to release it the first time. installation is less than 5 minutes. you have to get one. they run about $30. there are cheaper ones but this is the updated/better one.

Engineers. Go figure.
That's a nice piece of kit to fix a problem that shouldn't exist. Thank you very much.
