Be careful now, RAM sales stil grow at a brisk pace even after 8 years of this body style. The 4rth gen RAM styling is one of the best ever made and The Rebel TRX has design queues from the next gen (5th gen) styling which will be evolutionary rather than evolutionary. Which is extremely smart on RAMs part.
I agree, I had a 2013 Ram sport and loved it. I honestly feel like my F150 is a better truck, but man, the Ram is impressive. Personally I still think they are the nicest looking.
I like the Ram trucks a lot and almost went for them but I read about transmission issues and more importantly the F150 got higher safety ratings. I have a three year old, wanted what was safest for him.
I gues TFL guy hasn't read the RAM website. It says some very specific things.
"Concept vehicle shown. Vehicle specifications may change."
"With 575 horsepower, the Ram 1500 Rebel® TRX will be the most powerful factory-engineered half-ton pickup ever to be made—capable of tearing up the pavement at speeds greater than 100 mph."
The RAM guy wasn't actually lying...Technically, THAT is just a concept but a Rebel TRX even if slightly different WILL be made.
LOL
2. On the Longshot that it actually does, it will be grossly tones down and be a glorified rebel. That truck, as it sits, would probably be $75k. If they want to seriously compete with the Raptor, they'd need to trim it down to
This is Ram's last ditch effort to try to attract attention to the stagnant and dated 4th gen Ram platform that is going into it's 8th year without a redesign. It's old, it's tired, redesign it already.
Didn't they already take a stab at the Raptor with the Ram Runner a few years ago?
Actually, the current gen ram has been selling extremely well and has been gaining market share every quarter. I think they are almost on pace for 400k units this year IIRC.
Smart operating on Ram's part. Unit sales increasing and with huge margins to boot since they haven't had to foot the bill for a billion dollar redesign and retooling yet. They are mliking the current gen truck for everything it's worth.
I wouldn't shoot the idea down. It's obviously a potential release as Ram has put it on their website http://m.ramtrucks.com/en/limited-ed...500/rebel-trx/
People can trash talk Ram all day, but reality is they tend to give more features on lower end models than their competition and offer more innovative designs. I.E. Ram has used aluminum hoods well before Ford used an entire aluminum body, they are still the only truck to offer air suspension, they released the Diesel engine in the 1500 series whereas Ford is still pending, their rear suspension hasn't had leaf springs in the 1500's in almost a decade, their base model sound system out performs even Ford's Sony system, they tend to have a better towing capacity, and they offered LED tail lights in 2013. Not saying they're the best, but I've had two of the newer body style Ram's and would buy another one in a heartbeat whereas it would take some convincing for me to buy another F150.
Hi, I know this has already been, but the first aluminum hood on a Ford production product was in the late 70's on a Lincoln Versailles.

Considering a 2017 Rapture with no options lists for about 53K I do not think that price is all that far off
