A 707 hp motor de tuned to 575hp will be more reliable than a 395 hp motor boosted to 575. Also the 6.2 has the internal components and compression ratio for forced induction. The 5.7 does not, and would require a bunch of R&D and engine specific parts to make it work reliably.

Good points.

But I wouldn't be surprised if the production version has the 5.7L. I don't think they will be able to price it competitively to the Raptor otherwise, unless they make it a loss leader.

Also, since when does FCA make decisions based on reliability?

I wouldn't be surprised if they build this with the intent of stealing the the raptors thunder. A loss leader/image vehicle. They have been known to build some crazy vehicles

They have been known to think outside the box. If they do, it only makes ford do more for the future. I'm ok with that. I have a 2017 raptor on order, and I love my 2012 reg cab v8. I would take a current 5.0 raptor right now. I will take the 2017 and then see what ford does in the future. Fingers crossed for some kinda v8 in the future.

I was seriously disappointed when I saw that 707 hp only yields 0-60 times in the high 3's in the Challenger. Vehicles with far less power produce quicker times and handle better...and they have interiors that don't look like cheap plastic sh**.
But a porsche is another 40,000.00
