Maybe I'm just blind, lol. I find the halogens terrible. Drove back from BC in Aug on the way to Banff and I could barely see the road. I drove by a Lexus 350 on the highway and man the lights were so bright and crisp. Lit the whole road up. The led bulbs in the halogen housing is a better upgrade than the halogen bulbs for sure

Yeah just out of curiosity, and for the heck of it, I just ordered some LED bulbs from Amazon. Good reviews, Prime product, and for $65 I've got nothing to lose if I don't like them. Next day shipping so I should be getting them tomorrow.

That's priced well for a led kit, only issue I see you having is the size of the rear of the led bulbs. I ended up mocking up the rear cover to fit the 2stroke LEDs. Got rid of those and installed to a coworkers truck and used the rubber boot cover I purchased from Adam at 4x4truckleds, Was a perfect fit minus the cutting out for wires to go underneath.

That's cool. I might look around for something to cover it up but I'm not really that concerned to get it covered up right away. Might just make something, or use old yogurt containers or something lol It's under the hood so who cares.

You'll care when your headlights look like crap from dust entering through the hole.

I figured it was only a matter of time before the "LED in the Halogen Housing" idea came back up.

Please don't do this.

You're thinking HID's. HID's scatter light. I'm talking about LED. Totally different thing. Further to this, if I do happen to notice any light scattering, they will be put back to stock. I'm not an *** and I hate people who blind all the other drivers. I've never read anywhere about LED's scattering though, and they still leave a crisp cutoff line.

Does that happen though? From what I've read and seen, the headlight housing is a housing within another housing. So from what I can gather, dust that gets in behind the reflectors still can't get into the front of the reflectors... no? Has anyone else left the boots off and had dust get between the reflector and lens?

A lot of folks are buying the LED Conversion Kits from us... we import our own brand and so far, it's beat anything we've tested on the market. Lots of great reviews as well and seems very popular in the ford community (because I own a 2015+ and went on a mission to find a good product to sell for us Ford guys). It's our most popular item out of anything we sell on our site.

So it's a good solution for our crappy headlights.

Same here! I think you're right on about the subliminal affect. The more people start talking about a subject the more frequently it can potentially plant a seed. Having said that, what's good for some may not necessarily be good enough for others. It's a good thing to always want to make something better.
