Headlights
I read the other thread about slowing down , I guess I could slow down if I wasn't already doing 40-43mph in a 45.
When I go from a lit area with a bunch of street lights to a dark road with none , I can tell you without a doubt the headlights aren't that great.
I don't even turn the fog lights on , I guess I could give that a shot.
Maybe the older I get the cones and rods in my eyeballs just don't adjust as fast to light changes.
I dunno , since it's a lease truck it'll just be the way it is until it goes back.

Your owners manual will have a good description of how to properly adjust them. I would try that first before changing bulbs or the whole headlight itself.

To add to to stock headlight misery...ford missed the boat on this one!
I switched to the oem LEDs and like them....but
Got a base model ford transit van for a loaner car. Driving home last night and wow...the light from the stock halogens is as good as the 150 LEDs....only difference is the are a much warmer tone..not white
Why can they do this in a cheap model but not there best seller?

Stock halogens, very happy with them and plenty bright. Brighter than most other cars on the road. Yes in the city with streetlights, you won't see them as much, but you also don't need them. I drive on dark back roads every day to and from work and have no problems. I keep my fogs on to help spot critters in the ditch that might want to cross the road. Usually I can see the shadow of the car in front of me created by my headlights. So even behind another car, my lights overpower theirs.
I did notice though that when they get dirty, the output is affected a lot, which is normal. And because I drive the dark road every day, I usually give the lenses a quick wipe in the morning to make sure they're clean before heading off to work. Takes all of 10 seconds, a rag, and a bit of spit lol
For anyone thinking of doing a retrofit, or buying Anzos or whatever, you're better off spending $30 on some Sylvania Ultra's or something first to see if that helps. Could be you just got crap bulbs from the factory. FWIW, my truck was a Dearborn build, but I'm not sure when the bulbs go in, or if bulbs for Canadian trucks are different because of some regulation, who knows.

No real complaints with the stock halogens in my '16 XLT, they're a bit better than our '13 Flex halogens.
Still looking at Anzo + CBI HID + Morimoto LED Fogs upgrade down the road a bit. Tough pill to swallow at around $900-1k.
